Thursday's Movie News Links

Godzilla in 4k Ultra HD ? Yes!
8 pictures behind the scenes gallery of the technology process of the 4k.
The Black and White 1954 release and the sequels getting a makeover with 4k. A few years ago when classic media and Criterion collection said this was the best they had to master and it would cost to much even if the technology existed back then. Well now it's a dream come true to finally clean up the masters. I'm sure $500M at the box office didnt hurt and then there's the BR/DVD release sales.
A dream come true of us Godzilla fans. Not bad for a guy in a suit. Who hell is laughing now?
Never mind some of the comments. Their are idiots that walk amoung us..
PS shout out to Stella Y from our Godzila Community on Google plus, for the heads up on the second article. Your the best.
Hey ho, lets go! Another one from old school and agroup I grew up, being a Nu Yurker of course.
This is in gret hands Marty being a New Yorker himself and music fan. Remember he was one of the editors on the film Woodstock. I met these guys and they deserve a bio pic from the master himself.
The Shatner of course is in the middle. Great selfie, shame Micheal Dorn is mostly cutout.
I tell people I worked on the show and a lot of people still haven't seen it. Well that looks like that's going to change. Day of in a life of a Background Actor will premiere in September when the damn radio show premieres. Hopefully this weekend.

Wednesday's Movie News Links

Oscar Nods Already?
Love this picture, it's on my top 10 for the year. Tilda Swinton deserves the nod for Best Supporting Actress, she was that good. I didn't even recognize her? I mean who can miss David Bowies clone?
Well the voice of The Iron Giant finally comes ful circle with having the biggest hit with the fewest lines (line?) and having  Dancing Tree merchandise selling like crazy does not hurt either. But where's the Dancing Tree T-shirt? Shut Up and Take My Money!!! lol
2 great videos. Lotsa eggs and they still got the story right. While Spidey 2 had the eggs but screwed up the story. Looking forward to getting theBR while I walked right by the Spidey BR in the aisle.
Well he made it up by screwing the first trilogy didn't he. Icould understand why Lucas didn't want a Muppet voice for Yoda but then again he did the voices for The Dark Crystal. Go figure.
Yeah who was that guy? But the article was right, the death of Alcide was a waste but then again
so ws the whole season. Read the comments, again Dexter gets mentioned. Bad ending.
Yeah another publicity angle for the new season awareness but really who the hell cares.
I just want more zombie body count. I mean damn it, pile it up Big Time!

Tuesdays Movie News Links
I posted this info already but I loved the idea that it bumped Ninja Turtles the the turtles bumped the Guardians. Ironic ain't it? And there's still Japn and China for that $1B  goal. Maybe they can bumped Transformers 4? Now that would be sweet. And now the latest announcement is there are finally releasing The Musical Dancing Groot Tree as seen in the movie, well at least that's what the
guys at Midtown Comics told me. Tried to get the Pop Bubblehead but completely sold out.
Well it sure ain't hurting the movie at the box office. A small dancing tree, Hey Autobots roll out on that!
Talk about trees! Vin goes green and it so cool. Yeah I'm of those whose down with the earth,
saving the whales and all that, bla bla bla but I like the idea you can address more than one issue.
We all know this has been happening for years. And with Iron Man 3 especially catering to China for that box office, it is hurting the U.S. box office. Remember non of these years movies are crossing over the $300M mark like theold days with the 3D Imax prices added to boot.
But the real answer? It was in the opening monologue at the Emmys. That's why people are staying home and ratings are going thru the roof for TV/Cable/Netflix. etc. C'mon, did you run out saturday nite to see Sin City? No! You stayed home to make sure you didn't miss the new season premiere of Doctor Who.Well....that's what I did, lol.
I won't get into this much but when you have Breaking Bad winning and Game of Thrones getting all those nods, it goes to show you where all the talent went. It's all the acting and writing.
Not CGI, SFX, Green Screen and Micheal Bay blowing shit up.
Forget about Prometheus 2, the first one was just a remake of theoriginal Alien anyways. He should just concentrate on Blade Runner 2 before Harrison Ford breaks something else on his body.

The new radio sow will premiere tomorrow as I'm going to put everything for one big show.

Monday Movie News Links
This did worse than Expendables 3 when it premiered. Holy crap people stayed away. Actually I was disappointed myself as the script was week. Wait for Netflix, review coming tomorrow.
Good article explaining what went wrong or theexcues the studio are using to cover their tracks.
But the other big surprise that The Guardians were No. 1 again. Again selling that Dancing Groot didn't hurt either. Damn that thing is cute. On my shopping list by the way.
We alI remember him in Jurassaic Park and his 2 Oscars for directing and producing Ghandi. But I recommend "A Bridge To Far" as my favortie film of him directing. An all star cast including
Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, Robert Redford, Micheal Caine and more. Based on an actual event in WW2 abot a mission that was considered a failure. SEE IT on Netflix or whereever as this a a classic film and a great history lesson. FIY. Dont bother with the Blu Ray as they really screw that up big time. Lousy transfer all around. The special Editon 2 disc version has a whole bunch of features including Oscar Screenwritier William Goldman (Pincess Bride) commentary.
I would have loved No.3 but lets face it. No. 2 wasn't all that. The first one was unique and the second couldn't bring it up a notch. Just like Ex.l 3 and Sin City 2. And it's not the pirates who are doin harm like Moretz. Remember Ex. 3 was pirate was most watched overseas  but in the meantime it tanked here big time. It's the fans that care for the genre. Hell some went back to see GOTG again.
First True Blood went out with a wimper. That last show sucked (pun intended). No spoilers but
I thougth I saw a commercial trailer for New Blood, what the hellis taht about. I loved this show but once Sookie went Fairy theshow went out the window. Like Dexter another lousy ender.
Second Doctor Who: Lets face it, we all do it. I prefer the last Doctor this Doctor stinks.
The premiere was great I thought and he fit right in. The show started of great: Minor Spoiler:
Dinosaur in old England and brand new Credit sequence with updated music score. Fantastic.

Note: More links tomorrow and that new Radio Show will premiere part 1 and 2 as I decided
to include the Emmys and the Tribute of  Robin Williams for the show.

Thursday Movie Links Plus Sneek Peak Of New Dr. Who Credits
I love when Millar trashes Hollywood like most writers of his profession. I hope this picture does good or we are not going to see the rest of the books done. Shame it took this long to get this made.
How about addressing the issue of Hollywood blowing all this money on overbudget movies that are mostly mediocre to begin with. But a Billion for a trilogy is nuts. Man that is a lot of popcorn.
This is going to be messy. 20th Fox can do whatever they want at this point. I already have these so how many more times am I going to double dip? When it happens then I'll think about it but for now, whatever happens, happens. I'm just looking forward to the next trilogy.
Helen Mirren would be perfect as the Doctor. What are they waiting for? Can't wait to see the new Doctor. Even when some people say he's too old, he's fits with the old school classic Doctors.
A sneek peak of the new Credits. Good for him. Looks pretty cool and fits the show nicely.

Note: New Radio Show will premiere this weekend before Billy Crystal honors Robin Willaims on the Emmys. Promo now playing on the new widget. Click on the arrow for the dropdown list.

Wednesday's Movie News Links
Funny recap on the first movie. The narrator seems to forget some of the scenes, I wonder why, lol.
Would someone make up their mind? Well its good his work is saved but doesn't one hand know what the other hand is doing before waving both of them in the air?
This is funny as hack seeing Cruise getting trashed with ice water. Now where is that Star Wars vid?
I remember getting this while waiting on line. Once we got this me and my friends looked at each other and knew this movie is going to suck.

Note: We switched Radio Stations as TalkShoe is now our main channel.
As you can tell by the widgets TalkShoe Radio has been moved up and Blog Talk Radio will be a monthly Show. All the specials aka Godzilla will be on TalkShoe for September.
Our official website has also beeen updated to show these changes.

Note 2: A New Test Run is now playing on Blog Talk Radio to show that change.

Tuesday Movie News
$400,000 for the first one? Asylum Pictures pay that much? He's lucky to be getting anything!
Love that last line: Network Executives are worse than any shark. No shit!
Didn't I say this yesterday? People put 2 and 2 together, that many in the cast and not many will have the screen time.Jet Li and Arnold were a Joke I must admit, they could have anyone in those spots. Full review this week with spoilers on the radio show since nobody cares about this anyways.
Changing the title on IMDB Page. Is the studio that desperate. Man I love this movie and recommend this on Netflix or your choice of viewing but all this does is lose even more people. Here's a title:
"The Tom Cruise Movie Nobody Went To See" Not even his name can clear the Box Office. Ouch.
Total Fail. But again Hollywood would love this, that's how desperate they are especially since they are the problem to begin with but of course they won't admit. More texting, jeez how sad....

Monday Movie News Plus The Live Show

New Show from MNN now playing on YouTube. Note: Watch out for the volume at the beginning
of the show as the engineer was tweaking the soundboard:
This was last weeks news but it still makes sense now that Turtles was No. 1 for 2 weeks now.
And how come nobody is surprise about this anyways, we had to see this coming. Good ole '80's/
Geez, we've been saying this on our shows since spring for crying out loud. DUH!
This got beat by "Lets Be Cops" then Guardians and Turtles. For this to premiere at No. 4 at the Box Office is a shame and an embarrasement. I doubt very much piracy is the problem since must of the downloads wre overseas anyways. People just don't care anymore. They even had Han Solo in the cast and that didn't even matter. A big cast with small returns. How wonder Sly is talking Rambo.
Guess he's talking more of Rush Hour 4 than anything else by now. And would anyone care about that? He also mentioned Shanghai Knights as a prequel. What movie was that? Hee Hee.......

Special Note:
He should have been in Bad Santa sequel instead. That would have had more of a kick.
No reason to cut his performance, just re-edit. And it does have the Monty Python crew to help out.

New Shows This Weekend

New show on MNN on Saturday at 5 Pm. We are going to review Expendables 3, Mercenaries (EX3 Ripoff), Ninja Turtles, and others along with our tribute to Robin Williams.
Also My Tribute and review of Robin Williams movies will premiere on TalkShoe Radio. This will be our first full show on that Radio Station.
Links and other news will be posted thiscoming Monday from yesterday and today as I did not have a chance to post since I had a looooong day being a background actor on a television show Thrusday.
"The Black List" NBCs big hit show will start it's second season I was lucky to be on the set for one of the shows being filmed for the new season.
"A Day in the Life of a BackGround Actor" This will be a special on TalkShoe Radio as I tell of my experiences of spending the day as a BG Actor on the set of The Blacklist" which filmed on location at Coney Island. For this reason after spending the whole day at the beach under the sun is why I'm so fried. Man that Sun is sneaky and is taking the whole day to recover for the shows this weekend.
This will premiere next week along with a big massive review show for the films in August.
THEN those Godzilla shows I promised now that we got sound issue out of the way.
And just in time for the Blu-ray Release of Godzilla 2014 coming in September. Please see Link below.

My Favorite Robin Williams Movies

Here are my top 5 Favorite movies with Honorable Mentions to follow. More on the new Radio
Show this coming Friday.

1. Mrs. Doubt Fire
What a family movie should be with all the beats in place. Saw this again this week and still pulls aat the heartstrings while making laugh like crazy. The jokes never get tired. Won the Golden globe.
But he should been nominated for at least an Oscar for this.

2. The Bird Cage
A great remake which is better than the first as the third act takes it to the next level.
And seeing Gene Hackman as a one Ugly woman is the highlight to cap this perfect comedy.

3. Aladdin
All those voices, and those behind the scenes videos now being shown on how much improve he did for this movie.

4. Good Morning Vietnam
Total improve to make his transition from stage to screen. Smart on Director Barry Levinson to let him do what he did best with the cast actually cracking up and and their reactions caught on film

5. Dead Poets Society/ Good Will Hunting
Can we be serious here? These nominations were not a joke and the only comedian to be nominated for 4 Oscars and winning one as Best Supporting Actor for Good Will. Now that's a resume.
Lets not forget all the other nominations and wins: Best Actor Golden Globes.

Honorable Mentions:
World According to Garp: His first foray in Dramedy but not everyones favorite. Depressing tho.
Moscow on the Hudson: Love the foreign accent while doing his shtick.
Adventures of Baron Munchausen: Bit part but good to see him working with a Python.
Fisher King: Another Python work but him and Jeff Bridges made a great pair.
Insomnia/Awakenings: Going mano a mano with Al Pacino and Deniro. That's acting.
Bicentennial Man: Hisacting went thru the makeup so show a lot of heart. Why the hatred on this?
Night at the Museum: He was the highlight in both films and again funny with heart.

Note: New shows will start this Friday on Talk Show Radio and will continue this
conversation including Lauren Bacall and last week James Garner.
New promo is now playing. And more on that music show soon to be announced.

Tuesday's Movie News Links
They put a great collection especially the second clip being Comedy Relief which a lot of people and articles are leaving out. He did so much for that with Billy and Whoopi. I don't get that. Love all the clips except one. They could have left out Toys (that was horrible) and included Insomenia, a dramatic picture with Al Pacino out of all people. Willaims stood his ground mano o mano with Scarface. HOO AH HOO AH!
Hate to say this but this could help at the box office for Museum 3. "What another one?"
But people might want to see this as being in one of his last big pictures and the only one where he played the same character for a frachise.
This is an update from the above Yahoo article but decided to include it just to cover all th facts as we ll know that Mrs. Doubtfire 2 is not going to happen. It could have been one of last great ones.
Great stuff in here. Some are short some are long. My fav? No. 10, AFI Tribute to Al Pacino.
In the famous words of Academy Award Screenwriter William Goldman:
"Nobody knows Anything". Well so much for the expects.
Perfect choice. I always loved this movie from my childhood and now the have a great cast with Harris in the Yul Brynner part. Could it get any better? Check out the clip if you never saw the movie.

R.I.P. Robin Williams
Hard to believe and completely by surprised. I grew up with him in school watching Mork and Minday TV show and then seeing him get all those awards and doing those HBO Live on Broadway  shows by performing solo. And don't forget those Comedy Relief with Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg something the article above does not mention. He had it and still couldn't beat depression.
Shame. Too many to mention but Mrs. Doubtfire (yes there was rumor of a sequel) is my favorite and the very underrated dramedy,The World According to Garp with John Lithgow who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. They made a great team on that film. Go find it and see it.
DUH! Not surprised casue it's has it's built in audience. Movie wasn't as bad as the critics say but...

Not much as far as news like the one above which is still a shocker but to let you know..
Blog Talk Radio has been put on hold as technically there was too much headaches going on..
TalkShoe Radio wlll be taking over and if you look at the brand new widget on the right there's
a quick Test Run playing right now. So we are going ahead with all the shows as plan with the
Godzilla and King Kong specials
Next show will address all the links on this blog and a summer wrapup review on the summer
movies as I didn't list them on this blog this past month.
So give a listen to the TalkShoe widget and let me know on the comment section what you think.

Thursday Movie Link News - Holy Coward Batman!

Just when I thought I was done with News links for the week, more shit hit the fan, so here goes...
I've been saying this for years on our live shows with stop with the rebooting and retelling the same sotry over and over again aka Superman. But this is a great article that puts things in perspective. How wonder James Gunn got it right. And how wonder I've seen this twice so far.
Holy Coward Batman! We all knew they were going to move this, it was a matter of when.
Anything that Bayproduces outside of Transformers usually sucks and this will be no difference.
So what it beats Guardians this weekend, if it does, it has only one weekend to make its money as this will disappear faster than you can say cowabunga. I loved the first 3 movies growing up with them but these guys are too creepy human looking. Just doesn't look right.
T5: Useless Sequel. Cameron proved one thing. Without him this franchised aint worth shit. There.

Radio show will come this weekend for sure....

Wednesdays Movie News Links
Multi-poage article has some great insights. So much to come for the next few years. It's all good.
Spoilers on the future of the franchise. Heck just bring it on!
Who wasn't a fan of Alyssa Milano from tv fame? Short but Cool video.
Spilers if you haven't seen  the movie yet. This is fun to know for those who want to see it again.
This is such a sweet article and Marvel being great about it. Unlike Warners/DC how they treated the creators of Superman and cheated them out of royalties. Here is a book I strongly recommend which I have mention on the shows a few times:
Superman VS. Hollywood By Jake Rossen. It includes Ben Affleck playing Geroge Reeves as Superman in the film Hollywoodland. The whole book is behind the scenes of movie studios.
Speaking of which.......
It's actually one scene redone a few times. Cool 4 minute plus video.
Recommended: Texas Chainsaw 3D, not a great movie but for the 3 commentaries, one which features
Burns as she recollects here days on the first film. Good sense of Humour considering the hardship of making the film. Also:
Chainsaw Confidential by Gunnar Hansen, the original Leatherface, who also makes a cameo in the
Texas Chainsaw 3D film at the very beginning. He tells all on the making of and who everyone got screwed in payments as all the vulture producers ran away with the cash. Sad but insightful.
Jeez these 2 guys? What about the females? Don't they count. By being this big cast ensemble is why the ratings went up and got a bigger female audience to boot. Actually Helberg (Howie) is the most talented as he can play keyboard, sing, write songs, do actor impersonations (check out bloopers on dvd discs) and can do broadway one day, so he's got the talent to back it up. But man is such FU money its not funny anymore.

Note: I squeezed a lot of links today as a wrap for the week as the next thing I'm doing will be the Radio show to end the week...

Tuesday Movie News Links

Reminder: Live MNN show now playing on You Tube. Please see Monday's blog.
It's pretty obious that's what they are leading too. Why make the damn thing to begin with besides starting a brand new franchise but the cross over possibilities are enormous.
Great Video that explains why these films suck aka Iron Man 3, Transformers 4 clearing $1 Billion,
Like the last line mentioned: "Look for Godzilla movies and 19 Transformers movies."
But once the foreign market smartens up what are they going to do for an encore?
Article about somebody bitching about the endings of these movies. Bla Bla Bla...
He mentions it's all part of the larger picture but still complains. Guess he had to write something.
Nice video that puts all the eggs in one basket. The 12 minute Plus video has all the movies but stops short before Guardians. Quite a few even I didn't notice mostly those signs in the background.
Batman has grey hair? Nope, that's Afflecks real Grey Hair. That's all the stress of doing this film.
That's right I said it. Poor guy. Oscar for Argo then this train wreck. Well he's got Nolan's next flic.
Bad idea? No bad approach is more like it. But would love to see Weaver in this. But check out
Asylum Pictures (Sharknado movies) Rip-off: Mercenaries. Good idea but man that poster needs to be Photoshop big time! Yikes!  Poster on the bottom of the article. Like I said; YIKES!

Best for Last:
Godzilla 2014 finally broke the $200M mnark and $500M internationally.
It seems that the Comic Con new help the US box office as it was hanging around the $195 for weeks and all of a sudden it pick up steam again. Repeaters or people who stayed away finally caved in?
What ever it took was worth it. But the strange thing is Japan with the numbers being really low
considering that's is Hometown. But then again overseas numbers tend to drag in certain countries.
But what the hell, we are getting are Kaiju trio to help Godzilla out with the franchise.
Note: Click on Foreign tab to see those numbers.

Guardians Galaxy With Girl Power!

New Show From MNN now playing on You Tube. Please See previous post.
The studios didn't see this coming withthe huge numbers. But common sense  with any fan would tell you you have both Marvel and Star War fans together and you can't lose.
Good for her, hope she keeps on writing. Long article but lots of info. Rocket is for Rocky Racoon,
song from the White Album done bythe Beatles? YES!
Spoiler about that ending for Guardians even tho its the most talk about Marvel fact  being mentioned now.
Great 5 minute plus Video on the recap of all Marvel Heros including Gaurdians. Nicely Edited.
What a mess. This is going to suffer as thebox office. Hopefully it won't effect the international box office. Still want to see Jackie Chan, Brosnan, Seagal. What can I say, I'm on old fan of these guys.
This is really stupid FU money. I can see whythyeasked so much considering how much the networks are making on this, TBS and other synidcations all over the planet. But Jim Parsons is goin to be 45 yezrs old after the 3 years. How long can he be a 20 somehitng in college? But shitte he is funny along with the rest of them.

New Show Today on MNN Plus News Links

We are going Live today at 5 pm on MNN. Just click on the link and choose Ch. 2 at 5 pm to see the show:

We also have the Radio show now playing covering Comic-Con. They will be a follow up
next week then we will be going into the specials now that I got that sound issue fixed.

Guardians is huge already at the box office:
Predictioons were for $70M opener. Wrong! Superheros meets Star Wars. What were they thinking?
Some Spoilers but a fun article with some history background.
This is so funny how a theatre chain can screw this up with all the technology they have.
NOT so funny when you rush to see this opening weekend and you get something else and have to
wait for next screening. I would be so insulted. Especially all that money on popcorn and soda.

Friday News Links Filmmaking 101

New show on Blog Talk Radio now playing: Comic-Con Recap Pt. 1. Listen on the Widget.
New Live show on MNN Tomorrow at 5 PM. See our official Website for links.
Here are some filmmakin 101 starting with Guardians of the Galaxy:
Guardians of the Galaxy and how James Gunn got the job.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is a good example of getting it right. I would personally like to add Snowpiercer and Edge of Tommorrow even tho they are not mentioned in the article but proves right.
Peter Jackson and Hobbits are mention here too. Cut thecrap out Peter and Produce Skull Island!
Lucy with Scarlett Johansson. Included is a B-Roll Video on behind the scenes. Very cool.
The article is a bit technical about the cameras they used but a good insightto Lucs style of directing alongside the camera work of Thierry Arbogast. This was a good film besides the ending going loony aka Time Machine Looping but still alot of fun and Short!
While John Logan is considered one of the best writers out there lets not forget he wrote
Star Trek Next Generation Movie Nemesis with Tom Hardy as the Villain. Man that Sucked!
Glad they areadding thehumor, itsa trait that the last fews films had. And thats what people want
thier heroes to be action filled with fun and humor.
And wonder Guardians Galaxy is going to kill the box office this summer.
