Screen Actors Guild Awards

http://www.imdb.com/oscars/nominations/screen-actors-guild

The Actor I preferred got it for "The Artist"
Even tho Clooney is the Favorite and he did a great job I still
have to go with Jean Dujardin. He was that good.Actually the whole cast was good.
Glad that "The Help" got it anyways for team ensemble.

The Grey

Liam is on a role! Now let's go back and see him as a Jedi
in Phantom Menace. He was cool but Lucas was not convinced.
And Liam had to fight for the role as a Jedi. ummmmm....not an action Hero?

Ceaser gets dissed by Oscars!

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/the-2012-oscar-nominations

First Gollem and now Ceaser.
A lot of articles are bringing this up now
now that everyone can stop bitching about Dicaprio
and other actors that didn't get nominated.

Sorry but Serkis performance is right up there with
those who did got nominated regardless of motion captured or not.

Oscar Nominations

Full predictions coming this week.
But "The Artist" all the way.

Favorite scene at 50:00 minutes:
Ms. Miller shows up at the home of Valentine and says sorry.
Valentine says "Out with the old and in with the new, right?"
Then her stupid boyfriend shows up and says:
"Nice to meet you, my father is a great fan"

Ouch! This will get Best Picture Award.

And I love that music!

2011 Ticket Sales Blah

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/2011-Ticket-Sales-Down-Where-They-Were-1995-28563.html

Another reason why Congress is trying to past the Sopa bill
on Internet Piracy. Well Hollywood and Congress Don't get it.
Maybe if the stop with Prequels, Seuqels, Remakes and other
no brain ideas maybe more people would show up at the theaters.
Did we really need Cars 2?
Even when they do something original they can't even get that right.
Green Lantern anyone? And what was the $200M budget spent on?
And again another superhero film.

Sopa

More on this weekend....

Ed Burns Interview

In the next few days we are going to report on that whole
congress vote concerning the internet with a few links.

But in the meantime check out this interview with Actor/Independent filmmaker Ed Burns
on releasing his film via Itunes and VOD platform. Exactly what the studios don't want
when they are so busy going after pirates when they are the guilty ones themselves.
Read and you'll see what I mean. Out with the old model and in with the new.
Something the music business never got.

BAFTA Awards Nominations 2012

This is the British version of the Oscars.

At least Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy made the list as Best Picture.
Hopefully Gary Oldman will get nominated for Best Actor,
something The Golden Globes didn't do.

Golden Globes Winners

Well I got most of them right except I screwed up in the
Best Picture category saying "The Artist" when that got
it for Best Foreign Picture instead. I would have gone
with "The Help or "Hugo" for that matter.

But The head scratchers were:

Song: Madonna instead of Sir Elton? Even Roger Ebert went on Twitter
stating he had to check IMDB since he didn't recognize it and said
"And I do this for a living"

Score: Artist instead Hugo. Actually they're both good.

Animation: Tin Tin over Rango? Really? I did not like Tin and Loved
Rango. So screw that. I know which Blu-ray I'm getting.

TV Drama. What the hell is Homeland? was the big Twitter last night.
Never heard of it until a friend pointed to the poster on a bus.
Boardwalk should have gotten it.

As I said for the past couple of years. Who ever wins on Globes
wins at Oscar except for the occasional oddball like Best Picture.

Golden Globes Predictions 4

Final list:

Best Picture Comedy/Musical:
Midnight in Paris (my Fav) but The Artist will probably win.

As far as Supporting catagories I'm skipping this since most
of the actors are in films I didn't see so that wouldn't be fair.

Best TV Series - Drama: Boardwalk Empire even tho Game of Thrones
is more my style.

Rest of TV I'm skipping too. Besides Big Bang Theory
there's not much out there.

Golden Globes Predictions 3

Actor- George Clooney

Screenplay - Woody Allen

Best Score - Howard Shore for "Hugo"

Best Song - Elton John for "Hello Hello" for "Gnomeo and Juliet"

Animation - Rango

Golden Globes Predictions 2

Best Picture: The Artist
Which I mentioned on my show a few weeks back.
Homage to filmmaking like Hugo....But...
Don't be surprise if "Help" gets it.
Remember "Clash" cause it was the right thing to do.
Also to make up that it does have the best cast emsemble but
not everyone can win.

Best Actress: Meryl Streep
Repeating myself? Yep, forget about the movie being lack luster,
It's the performance that counts.

Best Actor?
Stay tune for Tomorrow's post.

"Ain't I A Stinker?"

Golden Globes Predictions

http://www.goldenglobes.org/nominations/

With just a few days away for the Golden Globes I will
make my predictions on certain catagories on who will win.

For now:

Best Director: Martin Scorsese for Hugo.
Loved this film. Homage to filmmaking, great use of 3D and
overdue for his Oscar. He should have won for Great Fellas
and of course Raging bull. But at least Hugo justifies his win.
