They don't get it, do they? Guess they didn't learn from the first time around.
Stay away from the Minions, damn it!

Another one bites the dust. Like Jerry Bruckheimer getting the axe for Lone Ranger, here's another victim.

Del Toro Having Final Laugh

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Pacific-Rim-Now-Ranks-2013-Highest-Grossing-Live-Action-Original-Film-39550.html

Movie Sequel here I come, do da do da.
Del Toro already had plans for the sequel and looks like now he is going to get his wish.
It seems the studio is waiting how the Blu-ray release does in numbers as Star Trek Darkness
is doing huge business while Iron Man 3 sales are bit off.
Either way it did huge business in China and the Studio can't ignore that.

Back Live on Sept. 25 on Blog Talk Radio

I had such a blast with special guest David Skolnick whom I met on one of community pages
"To Catch A Movie" that I asked him to join me for our Best and Worst of 2001 Pt. 1.
The Big Emmy Show was a test we did on Monday as we found we still had some damn
problem with the sound that's been haunting us for months. But for some strange reason
The Radio Gods were with us and besides some tiny dropouts the show came out great,
compare to some earlier shows. We did live and so glad it came out they way it did
we are going with Wednesday show as scheduled as you notice I'be been postponing
the show due to that sound problem.
One more show in the can live then we going to open the chat room and phones and
really kick zombie ass for our October Monster Fest Month.
Thanks for listening and for stopping by.

The Big Emmy Award Show

We added a special show concentrating on the Emmys with special guest David Skolnick and we cover the awards show and all things related to it. A lot of old trivia included.

http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/65th-emmy-awards-2013-complete-winners-list-234113127--abc-news-celebrities.html

What a wacky awards show. Started off great then went south.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Disney-End-Its-Deal-With-Jerry-Bruckheimer-39493.html

The big summer casualty. Not everything is gold that Bruckheimer touches. I love westerns
but him and company sent the genre back 200 years back with Lone Ranger. $200 Million
spent on a western. Since when horses cost that much?

WWZ Goof Trailer

http://youtu.be/I2cS5Fv5xIQ

Ok the movie ain't prefect but it's still a lot better than the other summer blockbusters
Like IM3 and Men of Steel. Yes I did buy the Blu-ray as soon as this came out.
Something I won't do for much of the release coming out.
Sorry but this was intense and if you see the Blu-ray unrated you'll see what this worked.

Zombie Double Feature Review

Zombie lovers rejoice! Looking for something this weekend as a double feature?
One obvious and the other needs the boost.

World War Z: 4 out of 5. See the  Blu-ray edition as it does have the extra 7 minutes of blood shed that
would have given this a R rating and is worth it. It only has an hour of behind the scenes features,
no commentary and it's obvious scenes were film for the third act that included Russia but discarded and these scenes are not included as there is no deleted scenes included. Maybe a double dip in the future to included these features but it does not take away that this plays great at home.

Cockneys Vs. Zombies: 4 out of 5: Imagine a sequel to Shawn of the Dead and the missing piece
to WWZ if they covered England getting attack by Zombies. Some have argued that WWZ unrated
still does have enough graphic violence. Well this makes up for it. Great production, well written and
directed and the actors are into it. Big Time. Senior citizens getting attack at the old age home and
grandma gets a hold  of a AK47 and goes to Town! Blood, gore and british humour. Yes!
Note: Due to time restraints couldn't get to the extra features. This I will make time for.

2 Titles To Compare on Blu-ray

You be the judge as I have my opinion on this comparison. But this Star Trek BR release is a ripoff
to the fans of the franchise and an insult but there is more to this after you read these articles.
An update will be coming on this Blog after I do the Live show on MNN.

http://www.forbes.com/sites/scottmendelson/2013/09/12/star-trek-into-darkness-blu-ray-punishes-the-fans/?partner=yahootix

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Pacific-Rim-Fight-Its-Way-Blu-ray-DVD-Digital-October-39325.html

Update: I prefer to have all my bonus features on one disc as Pacific Rim will have.
Having to go to different markets and to double dip is one plain ripoff.
The powers to be is just being greedy as to market the Star Trek as it is as they
know it will be only be a matter of years before actual discs disappear altogether
when you'll be able to download the material as they do now with music.
But by doing this is just pushing the future of downloads even faster.

Friday the 13th Blu-ray Buyer Beware

http://www.amazon.com/Friday-13th-Complete-Collection-Blu-ray/product-reviews/B00DEQQK8S/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending#R1KRNB9W4E2LEV

Please read the reviews on Amazon and judge for yourself if it's worth the upgrade. As for me:
So what some of these were never release on Blu-ray, If you have the original 2004 release
hold on to that especially if you are into behind the scenes features and commentaries.
There's quite a few commentaries are missing, a BIG no-no in my book and while most
of other features have made it unto this release there is nothing new added to this collection.
Also note about that un-rated nonsense, only a few seconds were deleted, it was just a gimmick
that the studio did with the DVD releases to make it feel like you were getting something new.
Trust me as an editor on this one, You are not missing anything, only 5-7 Seconds! were added
to the un-rated version and honestly I don't remember anything special about it. Wow, what a
difference that made. Again, follow all the reviews and judge for yourself. As for myself I never
got the original collection as it wasn't complete as I thought. Now I regret that since everyone
knows I'm huge on commentaries so I'm going back to pick up that collection and this BR can
sit on the shelf until Warner's gets their crap together. What a Milk Cow.

http://www.amazon.com/Crystal-Lake-Memories-Complete-History/dp/B00ETHN9L2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1379002008&sr=8-4&keywords=friday+the+13th

But the one collection to look out for is the new Crystal Lake Memories. Not that I have seen this,
but this reminds me of the Nightmare on Elm Street collection. Great reviews on this one, I think
this will be the one I would pick up and the DVD 2004 collection. But Having seen the Nightmare
Collection which is the ultimate collection on behind the scenes and a great tribute on the Franchise
which I have seen quite a few times, it never gets old, and yes it's in my collection AND from a
1 to 5 in my reviews, this one gets 10! So Hopefully Crystal looks promising. Below is Nightmare link:

Always Remember, Never Forget

A gentleman has been visiting Ground Zero for the past 12 years and always lays out the NYC
papers for the crowd. It was way to crowded to film all the papers but I captured these 2.
Strange how time goes by so fast but the pain is still there.

By the way the gentleman did not wanted to be filmed. He felt the cover stories said it all.
PS check my album photos for past pictures as I visit every year since I live less than a
mile away from the site which I call home for the past 40 years.

Time for Star Trek To Boldly Go Back to TV

http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/news/its-time-to-bring-back-star-trek-the-next-generation-20130910?utm_source=dailynewsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter

After the release of ST: Into Darkness most fans agree stop rehashing older material and put
ST back on TV, me myself included. Start with a new generation but only 50 years in the future
where some of the older cast members of ST:NG, DS9 and Voyager can all make cameos so
fans can feel some kind of link the that generation who grew up with those shows.
Remember Dr.McCoy on the first year of ST:NG who was over 130 yrs old? 70 yrs old is the
new 50 and so on. So those cameos can be a reality if the next show keeps it in that time frame.

And lets face by going back to TV is going back to it roots, or even better syndication or even
some kind of cable network. But back at home where it all began.
Let's get the Klingon's out of the way for the third movie and forget about that 5 yr mission,
blah blah blah cause all their going to do is repeat what we have seen before anyways.
You know, playing it safe like all these movie franchises. And I was looking for the Cardassians
on the big screen. Oh well, screw it. Let the next Enterprise deal with them on the tube.

Star Trek Into Darkness: Trailer Goof

http://youtu.be/6B22Uy7SBe4

Or What's wrong with this version of Wrath of Khan, lol.
I actually liked this movie but enough with the tidbits and trivia references to old school Star Trek.
Just one more film (for a trilogy) with the Klingons (and forget about that 5 year mission) and get back to TV where this franchise belongs.

More on the show: Best and Worst of summer 2013 after the Blu-ray of ST comes out.

Top 5 Money Making Screenwriters

http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/5-unsung-screenwriters-who-make-bank.html/

Even through they never mention how much money they made on these projects, they
are still above the line. A term known as those who make the most money on a movie.
These are the credits you see at the opening of the picture. Below the line are those
credits seen at the end of the movie. $1 Million is the starting rate on Big movies
and they also get points from the box offiice on top of their salary on writing one of
these. Good gig if you can get it.

Truth behind The Great Gatsby

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/reginaldford/2013/05/15/lotl-welcomes-producersongwriter-kwame

Note: Fast forward 20 min. into the show for that  particular segment.
The Great Gatsby: The soundtrack and the real truth. How Kwame was ask to produce the soundtrack
and 3 months before release his score was replace by Jay-Z Productions.
I find this to be a nightmare for any composer out there but this gentleman presents this story in a very
professional manner as a matter of fact. Him being a New Yorker, Jay-Z being a NY and me being a NY.
The only difference I wouldn't be bullied to be on the sidelines and would have bitch like Samuel Jackson
about the backstabbing. But this has happened to people like Randy Newman and others. But here is a great example how the business works for anyone who wants to get into this crazy business.

I thought I lost this link a few months ago as this is an old conversation but finally found it as this will be
one of many topics on our BIG DVD/BR review show. Over 50 films to review and counting.

PS Special thanks to "The Quiet Storm" on Blog Talk Radio and Kwame for the interview.

http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/6-film-directors-who-make-a-killing-for-the-studios.html/

Ironic, the very same people complaining about Hollywood happen to be the biggest money makers
using the same system. Then they wonder why the public couldn't give a rat's ass when the industry
starts their whining about losing money and how expensive these movies costs to make and....
blah blah blah blah.......

And after personally going to movies on premiere weekends at Major Theater chains in NYC and
seeing mostly empty seats, it tells a reflection on people tastes of just staying home and watching
cable or whatever medium at their leisurely and at their disposal.

Note: As said before, even through I do get invited to previews, sometimes free passes, I am
not a professional paid critic but I see things as a movie fan as taking the kids on the weekends
or hanging with the guys to see our favorite action, horror or whatever the genre happens to be.
If the studios stop looking at the numbers on those sheets and actually get off their asses and
walk into one these cinemas they can see the damage they have done.

But like the music business they know everything and refuse to listen like stubborn mules.
Oh well, like spoiled brats they got it all and still complain....

Iron Man 3 Post Review

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3r4FklA4gI

Maybe this clip will explain why I think thi is one of the worst movies of the year.
And I don't care how much it made at the box office! Well Thor 2 can't be worst than this.

Pacific Rim International Box Office Hit

http://boxofficemojo.com/movies/?id=pacificrim.htm

It took a while but PR finally has crossed over the $100M in the US and $400M internationally.
This was the film that didn't "Track" well but nobody saw that Lone Ranger was going to tank
internationally. Ha Ha. Now where the hell is the Green Light for the Pacific Rim sequel.

Unless theyare waiting for the Blu-ray sales which is what happened to Kick Ass and
Percy Jackson. Wile both did ok when first released they both had huge sales on Discs.
Time will tell. I know many of us are waiting for this.

In the meantime our last show No. 4 Live on MNN had to be taken down due to copyright
problem when I opened the show with a You Tube video on the show. Try to plug and help
another show I get purnished. Fine. See what happens next time, lol.
Anyway I will have to edit the show which will take time and rather get to the next show
on Blog Talk Radio which will be this week as a lot of Home DVDs are coming out tomorrow.
So a lot will be reviewed.
