Madea Wins Halloween

New Blog Talk Radio show now playing: Halloween 2016. New Live on MNN this Saturday.
John Carpenter Live plays Halloween Theme video, posted below links.

Update:
http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-why-inferno-flamed-4-hard-lessons-fall-2016-942736
All these excuses on why the fall box office has failed. I'll make it simpler: "Is this movie worth going to and spend $101 bucks or should I wait for home release aka Redbox or Netflix" DUH!

Previously:
http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/weekend-box-office-report-october-28-30-2016-769
Madea Rocks! Finally justice at the B.O. where 2 Oscar winners couldn't beat a guy in a dress. Pretty funny when you think about it. We love Hanks and Howard but when a movie stinks, it stinks as Inferno does. But they are making their money overseas anyways where as Madea is not big overseas, so it's great Tyler Perry is No. 1 two weekends in a row.
Mini-Review: 3 out of 5. The laughs were there and we see both Madea and Perry in the same scenes via split screen which adds to the story. And a slick funny ending with a lesson to be told. If only Perry edited it down a bit as a ran longer than it should have. Oh well, next time.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/george-a-romero-says-brad-pitt-killed-zombie-genre-942559
The original Zombie Director. Funny how he's kind of annoyed with Pitt and Walking Dead. While he mentions other films he doesn't mention the Italian films that cashed in the 190's. Too many to mention but they were kind of fun. . One that G Del Toro loves is Zombie. Check that one out.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/westworld-orgy-scene-explained-942103
This was the big deal when they were looking for actors to be in explicit nude scenes. Yep they admit they got some idea  from Kubricks Eyes Wide Shut. Translation. YAWN!, Wow how can a nude scene be so friggin boring. As far as the rest of the show, less said the better. Even the producers are wondering....check out the next link.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/hbo-close-to-westworld-renewal/
I thought they had this figured out and committed to a 5 year season story arc. Talk about a turn about. That other show "Vinyl" really scared HBO didn't it. That price tag doesn't help matters either.

Bonus: John Carpenter Live! Halloween Theme.

Holiday Movie Previews

New Radio Blog show coming Soon.
Update:
http://variety.com/2016/film/news/box-office-inferno-tom-hanks-1201903370/
So Inferno is going to have a hard time tobe No. 1. While Cruise films was Meh people still love Madea for Halloween. So will Madea still claim that spot We'll find enough tomorrow.

Mini-Reviews:
Jack Rachear 2: 2 out of 5. Same old tired macho flix  Been there done that. BUT better than...
Inferno: 1 out of 5. Didn't like the first two. So damn over rated (also got 1's). But you couldn't care less about saving the human race in this one. At the end you wish very one got it including the producers of this boring crap.

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/features/779881-holiday-movies#/slide/1
Lets face it. Big one for the season is Rogue One that everyone is looking forward to. But those reshoots didn't help maters and even Disney made that statement about not being big at the boxoffice like The Force Awakens. But how about the others?

My Picks:
Rougue One: Duh regardless if Garath screwed this up.
Hacksaw Ridge: Mel is back directing. Loved Apocalypto, very underrated.
Arrival: Where ID2 failed but this time are chilling? Well it's got Amy Adams. Good enough.
Passengers: Sci-fi with Chris Patt. Sounds good. (I know, what a coup out).
Monster's Call: Where BFG failed but maybe a giant tree will do better.

Honorable mentions:
Billy Lynns Walk: Ang Lee and Vin Diesel in the same movie. Well that's different.
Fantastic Beasts: NYC in the 1920's with great effects. (I know JK Rowlings franchise again)
Rules Don't Apply: Dick Tracy playing Howard Hughes with a Young Han Solo. But Beatty knows Directing and that Scorsese Bio film sucked. Beatty also came close to being Superman too.
More on the rest of December on the next blog.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/bryan-fuller-as-star-trek-discovery-showrunner-941587
Not a good sign for the production. Yeah sure he still gets to keep his Executive Producer Credit but when it comes to the writers room meetings, he won't be able to say jack. So if the other producers want to go to left field out of nowhere, they can do it without any complaints. Which is going to happen once they did that. Again not a good sign for the show.

http://www.thewrap.com/toy-story-4-incredibles-2-swap-release-dates/
Finally we're getting Incredibles, a superhero movie 10 years late. But at least it's finally getting made. And you can never get tired of a new Toy Story. And hopefully Pixar will give these sequels a break and come out with more original stories. That's what the sequels are for. To genenrate enough money to make new films. Well that's the logic but not with Hollywood of course.

Walking Dead Big Ratings

New Radio Show coming on Blog Talk Radio this week along with a new blog, just before Halloween. Live on MNN Halloween One Hour Edition Post below in bonus section:

http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/the-walking-dead-season-7-premiere-ratings-1201899174/
2nd biggest opener for the show which is really surprising for this season opener. Well I didn't see those two kills coming. Well Glenn was rumour for the longest which is the one I heard about if you saw our Live on MNN show but Red getting it was a big surprise. What a sad show considering it's a Zombie show for crying out loud. The thing that got to me was Glenn almost got eaten quite a few times thru the seasons only to get a baseball to the head. Bummer. More on the radio show.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/weekend-box-office-jack-reacher-940259
Cruise got owned by Madea. Wow that's embarrassing, lol. And a difference of $5M between them. Luckily Jack Reacher is a big hit overseas meaning we might gt another one which will bomb over here. Like it doesn't matter anyways.

http://www.thewrap.com/inside-the-deadpool-2-fight-over-two-totally-different-movies/
Got to give it to Reynolds for this one. He's the one that struggled for 11 years to get it done and on a cheap scale which helped the movie big time. Having it made like big blockbuster with a $150M budget and it would have turn it into an overblown, over bloated generic movie which in a long run would have been a mess. I'm looking at you DC! ...that's right I said it! (no hate mails please, thx u, lol).

http://www.darkhorizons.com/period-tone-details-of-new-friday-the-13th/
For crying out loud leave this alone already. Even the producers can't make up their mind what to do with this even when they got the script. Never a good sign. And look how long it took to actually getting aroundto getting this one made. Another bad sign. Poor Jason, no respect.

Update:
http://www.darkhorizons.com/uwe-boll-is-done-with-making-movies/
See ya. He should have quite a long time ago. But he does prove a point on the status of movies now a days where corporations just want to make movies to clear a the bottom line. He should have gotten his Ferrari and Yacht then.

Bonus:
Live on MNN Halloween Special, One Hour Edition.

Creature Features On MNN

Live on MNN this Saturday at 5pm: mnn.org ..The Big Halloween Show, but before that....
New Blog Talk Radio Postponed till next week: The Big Halloween Show Pt. 1.

Update:
Watching Krampus dvd again but this time with dvd commentary. Full review on both the radio show and live MNN. One of these writers did Superman Returns. Yes I'm very concern hence why I'm listening to the commentary tonite.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/krampus-screenwriters-will-tackle-godzilla-2-243
While this is great news for us Giant Creature fans and building a franchise out of this, why on earth did they hire these guys.  While Krampus was not a bad b-movie, it had it's moments based on the Xmas mythology, this is a bit of  a stretch for the KKvGZ universe. They must have come cheap. But when they are setting up a writer's room it's a win win for us fans.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/cool-videos-tom-cruise-re-enacts-his-filmography-with-james-corden-189
So the rumour on the internet that this clip is better than his latest film. Well I thought the first Jack Reacher was a fkin bore I'm def not interested in the new one. But wow, Corden rocks it with this montage. And Cruise looks like he does have a great time doing this. Even better.

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/logan-trailer-wolverine-movie-hugh-jackman-1201895190/
Is it me or does this look boring. It seems like the whole movie is explained in the trailer. Both Jackman and Stewart look like they want to be back on Broadway instead of being in this film.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/sinbad-is-getting-a-live-action-film-reboot/
Why? Well at least they mention Ray Harryhausen which is the best adaption. But there were so many others not mention in this article so why bother?

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/willy-wonka-new-movie-david-heyman-warner-bros-1201894143/
Didn't they learn from Burton last try at this? And where can they take this. Once you get the Golden Ticket that's it. Unless they find a new breed of spoiled brats. Wait, that sounds like Hollywood.

http://www.joblo.com/horror-movies/news/tv-review-the-rocky-horror-picture-show-lets-do-the-time-warp-again-131
Wow what a let down of a review. Well in defense Fox studios where going to remake this as a major feature. But instead decided to ride the "Live on TV" aspect. In a way that's good cause let's face it, it's cult classic and remaking this would be a disaster. So let's take this angle and be done with it.

Bonus: By request, some like when I add this so here goes regardless of subject matter:
http://variety.com/2016/digital/news/ghostbusters-beats-tarzan-for-top-spot-on-dvd-blu-ray-disc-sales-chart-1201894594/
This covers the top ten on both Blu-ray and DVD sales and rentals. At first look it can be a little bit confusing but it does show fans taste on their movies. But Ghostbusters? who knew? And I actually like it. Who knew? lol.

Batman No. 1 Again

Live on MNN this Saturday: Halloween Special but before that, New Blog Talk Radio Show.
See Mickey Mouse cartoon below links. That explains the Disney article, lol.

Update:
Found out got a long shoot at MSG tomorrow so Radio show and next blog will be this Friday.
http://www.darkhorizons.com/transformers-set-video-shows-off-uk-stunts/
4 videos of behind the scenes so cool I decided to added to this blog.

Previously:
http://variety.com/2016/film/news/box-office-ben-affleck-accountant-kevin-hart-what-now-3-1201890322/
Batman does it again, I mean Affleck, at the box office considering what a slow Fall season it's been.
A Kevin Hart does it with 3 wins this year especially with "Pets" hitting the top 50 of the year at the box office. Shame can't be said for Max Steel. Who? Exactly.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/walking-dead-renewed-eighth-season-938685
Already renewed and we still don't know who gets the Baseball bat. This article does mention the comic book where Negan beats Glenn to death but they have been changing some of the concepts from the comic compared to the show. So who knows. And didn't they 'killed of Glenn" before?
All I know they kill of Needus this show is over, lol.

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/captain-america-civil-war-finding-dory-disney-box-office-record-1201891155/
While we have Disney braggng about this, they still don't that much hope for RogueOne, which is really strange. Or that they know it can't compete with Force Awakens as far as the money goes. But if anyone should be concern with this should be Sony and Fox with their X-men and F4 franchises go. Disney one day will own all this so don't be surprise kiddies.

http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/trailers/776509-independence-day-franchise-future#/slide/1
Translation: Emmerich was hoping for this franchise to last and so know he's talking about tv/cable like War of the Worlds? I backed ID sequel and was pissed off how bad it was. I'm still having problems with HBO Westworld so ID and War Worlds can both take a break as far as I'm concern.

New Rogue One Trailer News

New Radio show coming very soon: "The Big Catching Up Show." No Live on MNN this weekend.

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/trailer-rogue-one-a-star-wars-story-1201887809/
Wowo over $30M in reshoots just to get this right. But is it worth it What, with a cameo by Darth Vadar? Hell Yeah! Still don't get Disney actually not having faith in this with that statement it's not goin to be as successful as Force Awakens. Man that is troubling to say the least.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/beautiful-rogue-one-final-trailer-screenshots/
This includes 69 screenshots broken down from the trailer. Great to choose from for you gadgets, I know I use them too.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/weekend-box-office-ben-afflecks-937968
CAn Batman save the boxoffice this weekend. Only if he wears the cape. And to think that over 2 years ago his name was mention and the internet was going to hell in a hand basket.
"Affleck as Batman? Noooooooooo!" How things change. Now do we want to see him as an accountant. Well if anyone can pull it off it's Affleck. If the material doesn't fail him that is.

http://screenrant.com/kong-skull-island-nycc-poster-godzilla-connections/
With Shin Gojira playing in theaters now (nope haven't seen it yet) it figures they try to tie this in somehow with the American Godzilla and King Kong. More of a tease than anything else as it barely mentions how they are going to have to giants fight it out. But it's good to know it's coming our way down the line.

http://lrmonline.com/news/breaking-news-fantastic-beasts-and-where-to-find-them-will-have-5-movies
For crying out loud the film hasn't even come out and already they jumping on the franchise band wagon. I hope this crashes and burn and leave the studio broke. It's this very obnoxious point of view is why they are losing theater goers. Ain't JK rich enough? Back to Netflix binging is all I can say.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/war-worlds-tv-series-works-938112
Why? Only the original from the 1950's is the true classic and even if Spielberg did put alot of things in from the book in his remake of the film, it still sucked compare to the classic. And forget about a tv series. It's been done along with other remakes and they still screwed it up. Something so simple by HG Wells and still can't get it right. The desperation just reeks from milking the title alone.

Bonus: So you made it down this far below the links. In case you missed this from the last blog:

Supergirl Super Ratings

New blog Talk Radio show now playing. Another one to be post later this week to catch up.
Hey! Look who else is a Supergirl fan! Scroll down below links for bonus picture, hee hee.

http://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/775239-supergirl-premiere-brings-in-record-ratings-for-the-cw#/slide/1
Guess having Superman on the show didn't hurt.. And moving to CW didn't matter with the hardcore fans either. Great start for the new season. And CBS was complaining on spending $3M an episode.
Good move by CW for having the last laugh. (well they could spend a little more on that green screen, it still looks terrible but still a fun show, hear that Agents of...oh never mind).

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-milestone-finding-dory-936637
The little fish that could. The second biggest from Pixar behind Toy Story. And both Disney and Pixar didn't want to go ahead with this for years. And who has another last laugh?  Ellen Dory! LOL.

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/tom-hanks-honored-hollywood-film-awards-sully-1201884329/
Everything is pointing to Hanks getting an Oscar nod for the movie. Well he deserves it and the movie should get a Best Picture nod also. A few months ago "Birth of a Nation" was getting all the raves butthe audience turned it's back on that big time due to the controversy and tanking at the box office didn't help matters either. But then again there is still no film out there that's worth Oscar. And with only 2 months ago it looks like we're going to get another boring Oscar show. s

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/guy-richie-to-direct-live-action-aladdin-movie-for-disney-202
The comments all the internet are screaming at this one: No Robin Williams and this is not going to work. Watch the comedian Aziz take over the role. Ritchie should do Sherlock 3. And last enough with these Live action from Disney. Man, the internet is tough.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/why-ash-vs-freddy-vs-jason-didnt-happen/
Interesting quote: sharing the proceeds 3 ways for the characters. Well another last laugh for Campbell. Ash got renewed for a third year. "Who's laughing now?"

http://www.darkhorizons.com/englund-talks-an-unused-elm-street-idea/
They should just give up on this all together. All 3 reboots sucked with Nightmare, Friday 13th,  Halloweenand Texas Chainsaw.  Even if Englund has a good idea the studios would find a way to screw it up like they did with the rest of these. They all belong in a time capsule. Let it be. And let's not start with Saw Part 56 or whatever. They still want to go ahead with that one. Jeez.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/fraggle-rock-returns-in-hd-on-hbo/
Teh Fraggle are back but what happen to the movie? Guess after the last Muppets movie tanked that idea was cancelled. Shame. But we get Live Disney right?

Bonus Picture:

Better than posting our Live show, right? LOL. PS Live on MNN, Oct. 8 extended edition is now playing on Youtube.

DeepWater to Battle 3 Flops This Weekend.

Live on MNN this Saturday at 5 pm. Click mnn.org. New Blog Talk Radio now playing. Also a New song on Soundcloud: "Seague in C"
Above poster from the Original Classic film starring Yul Brynner and James Brolin . See video below in the bonus section to see Brolin auditioning for James Bond.

http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/trailers/773493-the-suicide-squad-extended-cut-trailer-is-here#/slide/1
With rumours of 30 to 60 minutes cut from the film we just get 13 extra minutes. Watch out, here comes the double dipping for the Exclusive Premium Directors Ultimate Super Extended Cut (but not the last edition). With 6 different cuts quoted from Director Ayers himself. Expect the studio to milk this for the next 5 years. Well they have to make up for the money lost not having the film release in China.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/a-closer-look-at-the-westworld-budget/
A follow up ot the last article I posted on the last blog. It mentions other shows that also carry big budgets. How wonder the studios are nervous with the ratings matching the the price tags on these shows. The big surprise is at the bottom of the article where it states the two part of Star Trek Voyager pilot costs $23M back in the 1990's. That's a lot of money for a show that had a bad concept to begin with.

http://www.hitfix.com/harpy/logan-will-feature-an-older-wolverine-with-a-diminished-healing-factor
Why does all point toa movie that's going to suck. Unless there's a surprise twist to continue this franchise with Jackman or a complete reboot no what X-Men has gone to TV. But I wonder how much Stewart is getting for him to come back. That's my question since it's obvious he's done with all this.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/doom-is-the-name-of-the-game-in-first-war-of-the-planet-of-the-apes-teaser-294
They should have thought about releasing this for the Holidays. Besides Doc Strange and Star Wars, is there anything else toreally go out and see this season?

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/denis-villeneuves-blade-runner-sequel-gets-an-official-title-235
So how many monkees on the laptop it took to come up with this title. At least we don't get dumber titles like BR: The return of electric sheep, The sheep are dreaming again, well you get the idea if you know Philip K Dicks original story.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/prince-was-sought-for-luke-cage-cameo/
A miss opportunity since Prince was picky on what projects he would work on that he was not in control of. But it would have been interesting to say the least. One of many things he had plan butwill never see the light of day. Well maybe some things eventually.

Bonus:
James Brolin Audition as James Bond.

Deepwater Horizon: The Better Picture At The B.O.

Live on MNN this Saturday with a new Radio Show coming before than.
Mini-Reviews:
Deepwater Horizon: 4 out of 5.
Miss P Home for P Children: 1. One of Burton's worst film ever. Boring as hell.  Full trashing review on the radio show.
Storks: 3 out of 5, while it had some funny parts, the wolves stole the show,.And while it did have a lot of action, it was way too noisy and loud in some parts
Westworld: 3 out of 5 mainly for the actors who looked more bored than I was watching this.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/box-office-analysis-can-deepwater-horizon-be-rescued-934561
This is right up there with Sully. A great double header for a Saturday night. And this should get a few nods with tech awards when Oscars come around next year. Director Berg and Mark make a great team. Check out the underrated "Lone Soldier". (4 out of 5) You know the story but still tense as ever. As far as the film itself, every penny is up on that screen. See Bonus below for article on the making of.

http://variety.com/2016/tv/news/tv-ratings-westworld-premiere-matches-true-detective-season-1-1201876517/
This was pretty much a let down. I doubt they can last more than 2 seasons before people get bored.
My main problem was The Gunslinger (played by Yul Brynner in Magnificent 7 then in The Movie Westworld is human. Not a robot. What!??? And the young couple are the robots. Why change the concept. And already in the first episode they come up with a virus in the upgrade with therobots. They should have showed the wonder of Westworld and all that it offers then slowly introduce whats goin wrong in future episodes. Didn't the writers watch Jurassic World? Same concept. They introduce the amusement park then "Where did that dinosuar go?" Oh-oh...

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/why-ben-affleck-wanted-deathstroke-to-face-off-against-batman-147
What, no Joker? Finally! With Affleck behind this and a new villain hopefully this will make up the the past two failures this year BvS and Squad, two big miss fires for sure.

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/773117-live-action-mulan-gets-a-2018-release-date
Another live remake that nobody was askig for. Besides this has been done better By Director and Actor Barbra Streisand with Yentl. While it wasn't based on a true story it's a concept done before. But this goes out to all of Disney's remakes. Only James and the Giant Peach should get the remake as the original didn't have the budget for the stop motion needed for the film.

Bonus:
Great article on behind the scenes making of on the film Deep Water Horizon.
http://www.studiodaily.com/2016/09/studiodaily-dossier-staging-the-deepwater-horizon-disaster/?hq_e=el&hq_m=3291192&hq_l=6&hq_v=ac94ddf0df
