Thursday's Movie News Links

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/seth-macfarlane-fights-for-his-right-to-procreate-in-the-ted-2-trailer-228
This looks kind of disappointing. They couldn't come up with a better plot? And doesn't it look like they showed the whole move anyways? Still looking forward to this. Hopefully not the best parts is in the trailer. Maybe some of that last western snuck in here somewhere and we know how that turned out.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/john-wick-helmers-offered-directing-duties-on-cowboy-ninja-viking-313
So people are having problems with Pratt being Indy Jones but no problem him hanging with a machine gun nut racoon and his tree partner, running with Dinosaurs and now a mental cowboy/ninja/viking with issues. But him being Indy Jones? Oh hell no. Go figure. Talk about Pratt..

http://www.slashfilm.com/indominus-rex-jurassic-world/
All the hype on this one and it looks great but doesn't it remind you more of a reboot more than anything else. Even the promo materials look the same for those who can remember that far back.
Who are we kidding, we're all going to be there that weekend. But an I-Rex, kinda lame, ain't it?

http://www.cinemablend.com/television/How-Agent-Carter-May-Link-Avengers-2-69728.html
For soem reason I just can't get into this show. I don't know what it is but the one episode to miss and has a bunch of references to Avengers 2. Now I have to go back and see this. Am I the only one since the ratings are not the best. Spoilers are in this article so beware if you haven't seen the episode.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/i-want-that-lego-unveils-ultimate-collectors-shield-helicarrier-set-964
I love puttings things together and making them and damn this looks great but how many pieces?
Who has time to makes this? And for me, I lose one piece I would go berserk. Still looks great.

In this blog: Super Bowl Movie Trailers & Commercials list, Vote for next performer at SB.

Update:
http://ultimateclassicrock.com/super-bowl-halftime-2015-poll/?trackback=fbshare
Look at this list to vote for the next performers who haven't played compare to what we've been getting:
Katie Perry = Bathroom break....AC/DC = No bathroom break (piss out the window, sorry neighbor).
Look at the vote results to see who's the most requested. That is so cool.

http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/lists/boobs-buds-and-brett-favre-watch-15-leaked-super-bowl-xlix-commercials-20150129
So which one is your favorite. And mine? Crysdale Horse & Dog, Bronsan 007 Goof, Hamburger chick. Duh! Worst is Kim, how indulgent. Best Context: Domestic violence. Some of these just plain suck. I'll let you judge which ones are those.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/game-time-your-guide-to-studio-super-bowl-tv-spots-136
Great list with some movie trailers to preview before the game. Should be fun with all these played and of course the slaughter, I meant the game itself. Now who the hell is playing halftime?.

http://www.rollingstone.com/culture/features/great-moments-in-post-super-bowl-tv-shows-after-the-show-20150128
Nice history on how all this got started. A couple of cool videos are included here.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Insane-Fast-Furious-7-Car-Stunt-Blow-Your-Mind-7-Seconds-69443.html
The trailer is also included in the above link as this too will run on Super Bowl but this deserves it's link here. Since this is coming around the corner so soon and there's nothing really to look forward with Sniper stealing all the money at the boxoffice. Oh I forgot one tho..................

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/new-ghostbusters-remake-details-roles-for-bill-murray-peter-dinklage-679
Didn't I mention this yesterday about having Bill Murray in this, but it looks like it's for a new role all together. With all the hate going into this at this Point I don't think is going to matter how this does.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Jupiter-Ascending-Premiered-It-Did-Go-All-69437.html
DUH!!! What did anyone expect? The years first major bomb at $170M. Let's not forget marketing at another $50 at least. Everytime a movie gets pushed back so many times is not a good sign.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oscar-poll-movie-should-win-767795
Look at the top 3 with Whiplash at No.3 and Sniper at No. 4, surprised at that one.
But it looks like Boyhood and Birdman are going to battle it out for that Oscar. Well that sucks.

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/oscar-winner-dianne-wiest-im-766812?source=gravity
This is a shame but a warning for up and coming actors. Even after an Oscar it's still hard to pay the rent. Not everyone actor can be Meryl Streep and keep getting nominated. Ouch.

Note:. Special thanks to Joblo for the list. Yep I'm also a member of the site which explains some of the links I provide courtesy of them.

Tuesday's Movie News Links

This blog:F4, Ghostbusters, Indy Jones, X-men tv, Downey Jr's WW2, Sandler Western

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/at-long-last-here-is-the-first-trailer-for-josh-tranks-the-fantastic-four-286
Whiplash Full Metal Drummer is Reed Richards? Will he be pushing or dragging? Either way while most agree we don't need a reboot just having Miles Teller is a plus right there. Micheal B Jordon is also a plus regardless of ethnic background, I mean who cares. Act Damn it Act!I just hope they don't screw up The Thing. But imagine they had JK Simmons as Dr. Doom, lol. I be there on opening day so fast.
http://blogs.indiewire.com/theplaylist/kristen-wiig-melissa-mccarthy-kate-mckinnon-and-leslie-jones-to-lead-ghostbusters-reboot-20150127
You go ladies, I like this cast. First get over the idea, second its not GB2, uggghhhhh.
Melissa: He slimed me, I liked it.      Cut to Kristen:
Kristen: Ewwwwwwww......so how was it?
Yeah this can work, bonus round have Bill Murray make a cameo, oh so sweet.

http://www.vulture.com/2015/01/chris-pratt-indiana-jones.html?mid=imdb
1. Speilberg got turned down for Directing James Bond, Lucas told him "we got our own Bond"
2. Tom Selleck was first offered the role, got stuck with tv Magnum PI, now doing tv Blue Bloods.
3. Darabont (creater of Walking Dead, co-creator Godzilla '14) wrote the best Indy movie, Lucas turned down Darabont script for Crystal (Shit) Skull. How wonder Disney took Star Wars away from Lucas. They knew he couldn't be trusted with his own material.
4. Hopefully  we might see that great script from Darabont with Pratt in the lead.
5. Ford is old, get over it. Everyone is getting replace, yesterdays X-Men link another example.

htt p://www.latino-review.com/news/live-action-x-men-tv-series-in-the-works
I love that sticking point, 20th Century Fox has to have Disney's blessing. What have I been saying for the longest boys and girls? The House of Mouse always wins. Next...

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/robert-downey-jr-to-produce-a-film-based-on-the-uss-indianapolis-disaster-296
While Quint told the story, they actually went ahead many years later and made the film:
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0102455/?ref_=nm_flmg_act_54
Mission of the Shark: The Saga of the USS Indianapolis.
Even tho made for TV this is an excellent movie that should be seen about what happened to the crew. Great acting around up until the very end. A must see until this new version gets made.e
But I really don't see the need to remake this except to see everyone get eaten alive in graphic detail. Not necessary. The original stands alone as it is.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Adam-Sandler-Ridiculous-6-Has-Weirdest-Cast-I-Ever-Seen-Seriously-69410.html
At one time Tom Cruise and Denzal were going to make the classic Magnificent 7. Why? At least Sandler is making this a comedy which fine with me. But will it be funny at Blazing Saddles or Cat Ballou (imdb it folks). Seth tried with A Million Ways and that tanked. Well just imagine Growin Up in the old west and you'll get an idea what Sandler might get away with. Can't beat Saddles tho.

Coming this week: That Radio Show.......

Monday's Movie News Links

Maybe it has to do that Paddleton didn't do all that good at the boxoffice they decided to go to a full animated movie aka Peanuts. This is the rightdirection, remember The Flintsones? You know, the one where Steven Spielberg does not mention on his resume?

http://www.eonline.com/news/617462/favorite-humans-alert-ben-mckenzie-and-robin-lord-taylor-drop-scoop-on-baddies-headed-to-gotham?utm_source=eonline&utm_medium=rssfeeds&utm_campaign=imdb_topstories
Spoiler: Both The Penquin & The Riddler finally meet up. Never mind that Robin angle. These 2 along with the Scarecrow joining the list and getting the show renewed for a full 2nd is really setting the bar for this show. At first I didn't think this show would not work. Man, I was glad I was sooooooo wrong.

http://www.vox.com/2015/1/22/7876027/xmen-apocalypse-casting-storm-cyclops-jean-grey
Out with the old and in with the new. No Stewart and Mckellan either is just like a reboot. How wonder Hugh Jackman is doing so many other projects, he's ready to lose his day job.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Andy-Serkis-Mysterious-Avengers-2-Character-Finally-Revealed-69352.html
Nice side job for Serkis. Now when is he going to get his Lifetime Achievement Oscar award for his work in Mo-Cap. Oh forgot he's has to finish his Ape gig then get his award. Wait till he starts directing full time. Having Peter Jackson as a mentor is no joke that's for sure.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/35544/2015-sag-pga-awards-announced
That was a surprise by Keaton losing and Eddie Redmayne getting Best Actor. While everyone else was a given the Actor catagory threw everyone off for the Oscars. Now we're talking. With every other catagory being predictable this will be the showdown everyone is going to be looking at.
And for Best Picture? No Boyhood was mentioned at either one of these awards. So it looks like
Birdman and American Sniper. Either one is fine with me as long as it's not that damn kid growing up for 10 years.

Yeah Lopez is big down here but Sniper is doing huge down here as this town hastown. But The National Guard and Ramey Base, a former Airforce post  that became the towns airport which has the longest runway down here in the Caribbean. So do the locals love American Sniper? Fk yeah...

Note; Due to a big network crash I manage to sneek this blog in before the deadline. More will be added to this date tomorrow so I can catch up and get that Radio show in also.

Thursday's Movie News Links

Update:SAG Awards Predictions Link included. Please see Note below links.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/35505/votd-conan-o-brien-meets-archer
Funny skit. Love this show. Glad they got out of that Isis thing. That arc was all over the place.
H. Jon Benjamin is one of the luckiest voice over guys right now. This show and Bob Burgers, he does he voice of Bob are big rating busters. And he is funny in both of them with two completely different charcters but same voice. Good job if you can get it, lol. So cool.

http://nerdreactor.com/2015/01/20/stan-lee-end-of-marvel-universe/
Stan the Man tells like it is. Of course this is all hype about the universe as they have so much on their plate. Hopefully when it gets to that point, we don't get a suit saying "Let's Reboot" that is the time to take away his parking space.

http://www.comingsoon.net/tv/news/402189-melissa-benoist-cast-as-supergirl
Who? Does it matter? This will probably work since DC is on a roll with TV and such.
And this has to be better than that Supergirl movie anyways, something that hurts to talk about.

http://www.movieweb.com/star-trek-3-writer-simon-pegg
While Pegg is a self confessed Sci-Fi geek, check out the alien movie "Paul" a  4 out of 5" good time, this ST3 is beginning to be a mix bag of sorts. Just get this over with and Trek back on TV.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Learn-How-You-Can-Watch-Every-Best-Picture-Nominee-One-Sitting-69316.html
While I think it's a great idea with these packages for the inner film geek, the only problemwould be getting throught the mediocre films to get to the good ones.
The first comment says it all. Most of these are not even Oscar worthy which I have been saying since the Golden Globe nominations. They would be lucky to get 5 this year.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/American-Sniper-About-Break-Movie-Ticket-Records-69321.html
Wow, talk about the hype. I'm posting this, again not jumping on the band wagon but as filmmaking 101. Good campaign, strategy, hype can fake people into thinking they are backing a great picture. Which I did say, I gave this a 3, Unbroken a 4 and Imitation Game as Best Picture and Personal Fav Whiplash is in the game.. Just like all the hype on Boyhood and people are brainwash thinking it's a great film. All I can say to all future filmmaker is Do Not put a fake baby in a scene and think you're going to get away with it.

Note: Blog Talk Radio postponed till Monday to include this weekends SAG .
Instead of continuing with more award specials I'm going to wrap up everything  once and for all
with the next special. Then one last Oscar prediction show in February.
http://variety.com/2015/film/news/sag-awards-2015-film-predictions-1201412073/?utm_source=sailthru&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=conferencespotlight
For the record I agree with all these predictions especially Keaton for Birdman.
After that speech about his son at the Golden Globes how can they say no. I still stand behind
Benedict Cumberbatch for Best Actor but a Photobomb can't beat a crying tribute to a Son.
Well play Keaton, well played.
Sunday Update: Surprise. They went it Stephen Hawkins dude, something the Oscars would do, hadicapped and all. Well they are fellow actors and saw right thru Keaton's speech I guess.
Who ever wins here usually wins theOscar as they are the same voting party at the Oscars.
Guess which means the only showdown is for Best Picture and at this point that can be anything.

Blog: Suicide Squad- Sinister 6-Sniper

http://www.latino-review.com/news/marvelous-da7e-79-s-is-for-spider-man-suicide-squad-and-secret-wars
Excellent  article on Spidey heading back to Marvel. Again something I've been saying for 2 years noEw. It's just to obvious. Also covers Suicide Squad, DC doing TV better than Marvel, something else we've been saying since last summer and more Avengers. Great tidbits.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Spider-Man-Sinister-Six-Movie-Moving-Forward-Here-Evidence-69298.html
I'm posting this for the comments alone. Wow they are funny but pretty much on the money. People are fed up and have Spidey go over to Marvel already. Wish it was that easy.

http://www.slashfilm.com/rumor-batman-suicide-squad/
This is actually starting to sound good. While squad has a great cast this needed a jump start and what better than having Batman and Joker going at it again. It just never gets old. Unlike Superman and Lex Luthor, with so many villians who are more exciting like General Zod, Luthor is just a boring charcter no matter what the legacy is in the comics. Some may not like to hear that but I;m still waiting for Braniac to show up, so where is he?

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/steven-spielberg-planned-a-different-focus-for-his-take-on-american-sniper-195
This movie did not need 160 pages of script. It was long enough and got the job done with the right amount of screen time for the story. As far as focusing on the two snipers another picture "Enemy of the Gates"did it better with Ed Harris and Jude Law.

Tuesday's Movie News Links

In this blog: Sups-Bats-Sniper-007-Walking Dead

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/batman-v-superman-dawn-of-justice-choreographer-teases-epic-fight-scenes-155
It's always been about the big fight and if the storyline takes second place well then it's a most. The last ting we need is a boring script as a filler just to lead up to the fight. Or a heavy convoluted script just to confuse the issues at hand. Something simple and direct. Then the next movie can be a total mess. But at least we won't get the Nolan fights if you want to call it that. Wow those were bad.

http://www.movieweb.com/gotham-season-2-renewed-fox
Somehow they managed to pull this off. I didn't think Iwould like it but find myself tuning in no matter what. Agents of Shield, now thats pulling teeth. Take those 2 hotties out and there's no show.
Now the trick here is can they make it to at least 5 years and not get stuck with the villain of the week shtick?

http://www.movieweb.com/superman-movie-contract-henry-cavill
Cause being unemployed really sucks and being in a cable show that nobody remembers or saw for that matter doesn't help matters. That's "The Tudors" for you cable fans.

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/401301-american-sniper-surpasses-multiple-records-at-the-box-office#/slide/1
No, before you think I'm jumping on the band wagon I did say on my Radio Show I prefered "Unbroken" between both War Movies only because of the confrontation between POW & the Japanese Commander. And Unbroken did great at the Holidays crossing over the $100M at the Boxoffice along with Into The Woods I might add. So why did this do so good? Look at the Oscars nods. Did you go out and rush to see any of them? Didn't think so. Taken 3 Sucked. Did you go out and rush to see that again? Didn't think so. There's nothing else out there. Bradley Cooper is box office gold right now. Oh, you don't think so. His fans think otherwise.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Why-American-Sniper-Went-With-Horrifying-Fake-Baby-Over-Real-Thing-69278.html
You know, I didn't notice this the first time around even tho I did say "man that's a quiet baby".
But with all the controversy going on (which I refuse to talk about, some actors/filmmakers should just shut the FK up), the only concern I have is this movie losing to Boyhood. Some people just don't want to let go of that movie for crying out loud.

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Best-James-Bond-Film-Returning-Theaters-69279.html
Goldfinger in 4K but only in Europe? This needs to be seen stateside for sure. And maybe then some of the other Bonds too in 4K. We all have our favorite but the early ones should be the first ones need to be screened. Hopeful thinking.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/the-living-fight-to-survive-in-this-new-walking-dead-season-five-trailer-691
Running out of material? Well everything must come to an end. But it has togo out with a bang. But it seems like there's enough material to go a long while. And since they don't stick 100% to the original material (like those hobbits) they can stretch this out like what they did with that Hobbit book. 300 pages into 9 Hours?!!!

Monday Movie News Links

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/weekend-box-office-report-january-16-18-2015-215
......And the Oscar for Best Picture goes to...
Game changer, so much for the Academy awards this year. For anyone who has been listening to my awards show coverage on Blog Talk Radio,  this picture threw the whole thing out the window. Basically it gave a big FU (Yes!) to Boyhood who's been winning a whole lot of crap lately, Sniper killed it. All pun intended. Of course I have to re-record the latest show again as I stuck to my guns (no pun intended) about Imitation Game which I still do but I have no problem with Clint's film who was robbed of the Directors nod which went instead to Director of Foxcatcher. Which I might add also stole from Director of Selma which didn't do all that great at the boxoffice. The studio did not push it enough considering it's MLK Weekend. Shame on them. Anyways...
The Big Award Nomination Show Wrapup will premiere this week.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/marvel-to-expand-the-guardians-of-the-galaxy-credit-sequence-as-comic-book-333
My generation grew up with Howard the Duck and we always wanted this to succeed in some way no matter how sillyit was, fun factor in check. And Lucas never got credit for bringing this to the big screen even when it was huge in Elngland. Now Howard is going to get his chance. Bring it on!

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/features/400853-cs-video-george-lucas-and-the-cast-of-strange-magic#/slide/1
Speaking of George, this has video and 6 still shots. Looks good but this is not getting anhy decent push whats so ever. But a musical from George? But wait, the music arranged by Marius de Vries who did Moulin Rouge which had a certain Jedi a young Obi-Wan doing singing duties with nonother than ewan Mcgregor? Wow, small galaxy far far away.

Note: Running late with this blog, more Monday links tomorrow wtih the Radio show.

Thursday's Movie News Links

The Academy WTF Award nominations were announced today with Selma & Lego Movie getting dissed.  New Blog Talk Radio show this weekend after this past Thursday's Critic Choice Awards.
This will also include the Bafta Award nominations. Almost the same as the Oscars.

http://www.movieweb.com/thunderbirds-are-go-photo-tracey-brothers
I don't know about this. Where are the strings? Live action miniature sets with Weta doing the CGI sounds good but already I'm missing the damn strings. They did it with Team America. Fk Yeah? It's more like Fk no!

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Can-Any-Film-Beat-Boyhood-Best-Picture-69193.html
Looks like I'm not the only one who agrees that the most obvious choice to win for Best Picture is Imitation Game which I announced on my Blog Talk Radio show last week. But I can't believe how many nominations all these movies got. Which mean it was really a bad year at the movies that these very few would get all these nods. Full list and opinions and show announcement down below.

http://www.movieweb.com/fantastic-four-reboot-reshoots
What do they expect when they hired the director of Chronicle which was less than great. (sucked big time). Didn't they learn last time with the last FF? They hired the director of Barbershop! That title alone should have been a hint.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/new-look-at-the-hybrid-dinosaur-indominus-rex-from-jurassic-world-161
That's it? Got to admit the last Dinosaur in JP3 was bigger looking but let's see what the moves are.
But regardless still looking forward to this with SFX much better nowadays.

http://www.cinemablend.com/television/Simpsons-Episode-Almost-Turned-Simpsons-Movie-2-69473.html
Check out the voting by 61% that the episode almost made it as a movie. Great episode, I thought the nods to other movies were cool. But when are we going to get that movie anyways?

http://www.latino-review.com/news/87th-academy-awards-nominations
"Everything is Awesome" No it's not! They nominate the song but not the movie? WTF?!
They nominate Director of Foxcatcher, which did not get Best Pic Nod but not director of Selma which did get the Best Pic Nod or Eastwood for American Sniper. WTF?!
They nominate Carell for Best Actor as a not job but not Oyelo but not legend MLK? WTF?!
They nominate Interstellar and X-Men for VSF but not Godzilla? WTF?!
Well Whiplash is in for Best Picture along with Imitation Game so I'm good. Really!

Coming next: The Award nominations wrap up show on The Blog Talk Radio show.
This willl include with Globes, Critics winners & losers and the Oscar and Bafta Nods.

Update:
http://awards.bafta.org/award/2015/film
The big difference: Damien Chazelle as Best Director for Whiplash. Yes!

Wednesday's Movie News Links

Note: Oscar Nods tomorrow followed by a show on Blog Talk Radio.

http://www.latino-review.com/news/5p79my9xaqmfy50ey83817ixkbu1du
One from the 1980's. The new Mad Max is getting good reviews so if they do this right this might have a chance not like Terminator franchise (no hope for that Genesys thing). But that iconic World Trade Center shot? What is going to replace that? With original Director John Carpenter as Executive Producer I'm sure he'll so right. This was a personal fav not like Escape from LA. We don't talk about that.

http://www.comingsoon.net/dvd/news/399615-the-interview-blu-ray-arrives-february-17
Wow, that was fast to Blu-ray. Less than 2 months. Sony really wants to get their money back quick while the momentum is still going strong for the film. This is still playing at Caribbean Cinemas down here in PR. Yep down here out of all places and the picture is still playing. Man, these guys got fans, lol.

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/399655-voice-cast-for-wb-animations-batman-vs-robin-revealed
Just the title alone this will be a big hit. Like I said a million times before DC get these right, movie wise well...But! On IMDB there is some bad feedback on the next Justice League: Throne of Atlantis.
Coming out on Jan. 27 we'll see what the fans say.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/transformers-4-legend-of-hercules-lead-2015-razzie-nominations-271
Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas will be a landslide. Everything else is predictable, I mean Transformers, Duh!
Fav category; Worst Screen Combo: Krik & his Ego. Classic!

Tomorrow will be the Oscar nods with a show on Blog Talk Radio to follow and that quick wrap up of the Golden Globes. It will be a short 30 minute show. Then tomorrow night the Critics Choice Awards like anyone cares.
My Nods:
Best Picture: Unbroken, Whiplash as they still haven't been recognize for this category.
Best Supporting Actress: Tilda Swanson for Snowpiercer. What's wrong with these people?
Everything else is a shoo in, oh well.

Trailer with 26 screen shots, behind the scenes and art work covering the movie.
My favorite is No. 18, Scarlett as Black Widow. Nice overhead shot, hee hee.

http://www.latino-review.com/news/what-did-george-lucas-originally-plan-to-do-with-episode-vii
Wow, that was close. Aren't we all glad that Disney took over. Sit down George and enjoy the show.

http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/cartoon-network-picks-up-global-rights-to-transformers-robots-in-disguise-1201404088/
Like the movies ar not bad enough now we get this. Bumblebee as leader. Yeah right. Yep, another angle to reboot the movie franchise and make the audience see this crap all over again.

http://www.vulture.com/2015/01/why-ben-affleck-hitchcock-redo-is-a-great-idea.html?mid=imdb
If you going to do a remake of a classic at least get the right people to do it. Fincher and Affleck did  a good job on Gone Girl so this should be in good hands.

http://variety.com/2015/tv/news/woody-allen-to-create-his-first-television-series-for-amazon-1201403742/
Whatever you think of Allen heis a legend of cinema. And for him to make this move say a lot
about the state of movies and tv/cable.

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/number-of-female-directors-falls-over-17-year-period-study-finds-1201402686/
I loved both movies Selma & Unbroken by Duvernay and Jolie respectively. Tired of the boys club with overrated movies like Boyhood and Budapest Hotel, both who won Golden Globes, both highly overrated. Even in the boys club Birdman was better than the previous two. Where's the justice?

Monday's Movie News Links

Recap of Golden Globes below Links since most don't care anyways, lol.

http://www.movieweb.com/captain-america-3-locations-start-date-anthony-mackie
Filming around the world starting in April including the family's place Puerto Rico? Probably
in San Juan aka Agents of Shield and Fast & Furious 5. My luck I will be heading back to NY by then.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/liam-neeson-is-willing-to-return-for-taken-4-490
The first big hit of the year. They need to maek another one so they can get the damn story right.
Boring middle, action all at the end. Next time: Heavy body count throughout, thank you.
Then call it Taken 4: Kaching!

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/first-look-at-billy-dee-williams-return-as-lando-in-star-wars-rebels-294
Well Billy had to show up somewhere considering he got totally dissed for No. 7.
And this show keeps getting better, so why are the fans still trashing this?
WE got Yoda back (original voice Frank Oz) on Jan. 5 Path of the Jedi. Great dialogue " A Jedi You may yet be". That's right I watch. "Fan I am, age matters not". So there!

http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/lists/golden-globes-2015-20-best-and-worst-moments-20150112
While the show was funny the awards were so whack. Boyhood? Well the Oscars are going to suck that's for sure. And how the hell did Budapest win over Birdman? Dragon 2 over Lego Movie? Well I got my 3 right, J.K. Simmons, Julian Moore, Micheal Keaton. Everything else? Right out the window.

Note: Recap of the Globes on the radio show will be this coming Thursday to coincide with
the Academy Awards nomination announcements. Hopefully Whiplash and Unbroken will get their nominations for the Best Picture category.

Mini Reviews:
Unbroken: a solid 4 out of 5. Jolie, you go girl! Very underrated WW2 film. Only weak spot was in the middle on the lift raft waiting to be rescued. I blame the script for that. Excellent Camera work by Roger Dakean (Skyfall) really adds to the picture. Crossing the $100M mark at the boxoffice is well deserved.
American Sniper: 3 out of 5. Excellent combat scenes with Bradley Cooper doing a great job but the movie drags when it gets to stateside and his homelife. It goes back and forth with that and just makes you wish they stick to the action scenes. Excellent ending using real footage. I'm always a sucker for those kind of endings.

New Radio Shows Now Playing

The Golden Globe Awards Prediction Show is now playing on Talk Show Radio. Please see that widget. Note: Another station is mentioned but due to a tech problem I put the shows on TSR instead.
Update: New show on Blog Talk Radio: The Complete Prediction show including "Selma".

http://nominations2015.com/golden-globe-nominations-2015/
This is the list I am using for both the Radio Show and for tomorrow's nights Globes Show.

http://www.comingsoon.net/movies/news/397663-2014-bafta-award-nominations-announced
Almost the same list as the Golden Globes, Critics Choice and others except Whiplash is getting more kudos and Selma has been completely ignored. And as I said before for many years
who ever wins the Globes usually gets the Oscar except for that one surprise. But for the past couple of years Bafta also has been a preview on who is going to win at the Oscars.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/2015-critics-choice-movie-awards-nominations-announced/
Includes full listing of the nominees. The show will be live on Jan. 15 the same day as the
Oscar nominations are announced.

There will be a wrap up show on The Golden Globe Winners next week followed by the official show premiere for the new year.

Golden Globe Predictions Pt. 1

UPDATE: Blog Talk Radio has the complete list of predictions of the winners.

Golden Globe Reviews and Predictions Part 1:
Right from the top: Imitation Game for Best Picture, Actor, Director, Screenplay.
Besides my personal Favorite Whiplash for Best Supporting Actor J.K. Simmons everything this year is so overrated that besides the above no picture deserves a 5 out of my ratings 1-5.
PS Slow news day so I'm doing this before the awards this coming Sunday.

http://insidemovies.ew.com/2015/01/07/boyhood-grand-budapest-guardians-score-writers-guild-nominatons/
Adapted Screenplay: Imitation Game
Original Screenplay: Whiplash
But the big surprise was Guardians of the Galaxy got a nod. Didn't see that coming but so cool.

Ratings: 1 -5, Bad to Great. These Reviews are posted according to my rating.

Imitation Game: 5
A perfect drama all around. This is the one that Oscar should recognize and Not Boyhood!
Whiplash: 4
"Dragging or Rushing?" With a Rocky like ending this one is a knockout. Simmons owns it.
Birdman: 3
Great cast and Keaton nails it, a it's a technical wonder for editing but too damn Artsy-Fartsy.
Theory of Everything: 3
Great performance in the first half turns into one look in the second half.
Boyhood: 2
Way to damn overrated. Once the gimmick is over there's not much left.  For the Lifetime Channel.
Foxcatcher: 1
One note performance from Carell, long dreary not even with commentary will I see this again.

Note: Whiplash is not nominated for Best Picture but is one of my favorites as I have not yet seen
"Selma" which was nominated.

Complete list on tomorrow's blog along with full reviews on Blog Talk Radio.
The Talk Show Radio will premiere Monday after the Golden Globes Awards on Sunday.

Tuesday's Movie News Links

http://www.movieweb.com/ghost-in-shell-movie-cast-scarlett-johansson
Yeah I know, old news with all this Antman talk. But Scarlett is Hot. So there.
As most of you know "Ghost" was done already as "The Matrix" as Ghost was ripped off left and right for that film. But at least the original is finally getting made and Scarlett is perfect for it.

http://www.joblo.com/movie-news/ant-man-poster-precedes-trailer-to-debut-during-agent-carter-today-199
Can't believe how fast this happened. In development for the longest, director fired and now in a few mnths it will be on the big screen, which reminds me....

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/Channing-Tatum-X-Men-Movie-Happening-Sooner-Than-We-Thought-69014.html
Talk about putting this on the fast track. Being in a award nominated movie like Foxcatcher doesn't hurt either. And probably hoping noone notices Jupiter Ascending which was bumped to February. Not a good sign there but at this point it's not going to hurt him what so ever.

http://variety.com/2015/film/news/birdman-boyhood-imitation-game-among-producers-guild-nominations-1201392649/
Basically all the films nominated for Golden Globes are here but I'm rooting for the darkhorse
"Whiplash" just to get nominated for an Oscar as Best Picture. And I'm
really sick of Boyhood.

Note: My predictions for Golden Globes will be posted on Thursday's Blog. Radio show will be posted on Friday which will include all of my predictions with movie reviews.

A Brand New Year !

Here's looking to a fun year. Yeah Snoopy ! Good grief, yeah you too Charlie Brown. LOL.

http://www.latino-review.com/news/new-trailer-hits-for-the-peanuts-movie
This looks great, Extended with a new song playing in the middle. This is going be a fun year for sure for the movies. Unlike 2014 which reminds me......

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/4-Big-Reasons-People-Aren-t-Going-Movies-Anymore-68955.html
For me, it's not fun anymore. Where the hell is the fun and humor? Some got it right, most got it wrong. And that's why 2014 sucked. 2015 looks like it's going to go back on track. This will be one of the main topics for our Radio Show Premiere for the new year. Now talk about not having fun......

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/X-Men-Director-Says-Christopher-Nolan-Style-Comic-Book-Movie-Dead-68991.html
Something else we've been saying this summer. Enough of these dark superhero movies. Guardians might have been over the top, bloated at times and even just plain silly but fun as heck. And that's what Avengers, Star Wars, Peanuts, etc. are all going to bring. Superman gets screwed again. And now that's funny.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/35283/-spectre-set-photo-takes-us-to-the-snow
Quick!Name all of the Bond movies to feautre ski chases and which one is considered the most famous of all?
Daniel Craig said it: Austin Powers screwed the franchise. But Craig and company said the same thing. Having FUN with he franchise. Again enough with this brooding crap. It's BORING!
Now abour Blofeld and that Volcano hideout...........

http://www.cinemablend.com/new/JK-Simmons-Thinks-His-Foul-Mouthed-Whiplash-Character-Has-Point-68960.html
OK, now let's serious and save the best for the last. Best Picture of the Year (Birdman I haven't seen yet to be fair) but this is Rocky for this generation. And Best Actor, even if he gets the Oscar nod for Supporting Actor he deserves to win hands down. More on the radio show. With that said......

Note:  Golden Globes wrap up on Talk Shoe Radio coming this Friday.
