Well thanks to the trailer we now know what the first half of the movie is about. It's pretty easy to figure out. And Kong still gets the girl as in all the Kong movies do. But the ending will be different from all other movies as if he doesn't get off the island and climbs a tall building. Or does he? lol.

How are you going to attract an audience when they couldn't care less who wins. But I do love the idea that La La Land lost. So damn overated. Still can't believe it got that many nominations.
The rest of the winners were predictable. And Denzel lost. And all my other ones I wanted to win also lost. This year was a wipe out. Well at least Suicide Squad got it for Best Makeup out of all things. For me the winner was Jimmy Kimmel. He was spot on with his comedy. And he should come back. Best part ? Bus load of tourists crashing the awards. I'll have more of a review saved for a new radio show this week.

Yep Paxton did he's own Kong movie with a remake of Mighty Joy Young. Trivia: Ray Harryhausen put down Godzilla saying it's only a guy in a suit. In this version, some scenes it's CGI  but in scenes with Joe Kong in the park (jail) it's a guy in the suit ! Yes perfomed by legendary Rick Baker.

 Paxton the singer. This was the only muscic video that James Cameron ever directed. And if you look closely you will see some of the actors in Aliens in this video.

Lego Batman No. 1 for 2 Weeks

Just stick with Wick, a brand new franchise wortha couple of sequels.

You go girls. If you listen to the past Youtube and radio shows, my money was Denzel and Viola for the acting catagory. Didn't see Ali get it but still cool. But my favorite film of the year so far got the big ensemble cast win so that was sweet. But the other big surprise was Affleck got beat by Denzel. Double sweet as I thought both the acting and picture were both overrated. So there.

It's official: La La Land is the most overrated movie of the year and Deadpool got totally dissed.
But Hidden Figures is in with Octavia Spencer representing Supporting Actor. Good enough.
While Hanks also got dissed, Micheal Shannon got the nod instead of Aaron eh (Quicksilver, Godzilla, yeah him). And Amy Adams did not get a nod, neither should Arrival but another story.
Scorsese "Silence" got Cinematography at least. Denzel and Viola got thier nods.
Mel snuck in as Director for Hacksaw Ridge which got Best Pic nod. Cool.
Both Rogue One and Deep Water Horizon both at least got SFX and Sound nods.
But lets face it, half the nods for Best Picture dont even deserve it,  Arrival..really?

Hidden Figures is in my top 10 foir the year. Great way to start 2017. Nods for both Cookie and Kevin would be sweet.

New Movie Reviews For The New Year

Mini-Reviews:
Hidden Figures: 5 out of  5. Great story with an excellent cast all around. Definately a feel good movie.
Patroits Day: 4. Producer Wahlberg should be proud. Wait, is that Supergirl as the terrorist wife?
La La Land: 3. Homage to the old musicals of the day. But best picture? Bit of a stretch.
Fences: 4. The Oscar for best actors belong to Denzel and  Viola Davis. Hands down.
Moonlight: Brave and couragest for its topic. All the actors do a great job. But best picture?
Underworld: ZERO!  What they couldn't afford light lulbs? It was hard to see anything. Editing didn't help either. And man somebody loves the color blue. uugghh.
Collateral Beauty: 2; Will Smith needs Bad Boys 3 now. Wow what a misfire. Didn't anyone care in making this? It was not that bad but Lazy comes to mind as the movie is just a total Meh.
Great Wall: 2, Starts of really great, slow middle then gets redundant in the last half hour. Kind of dissapointment, no fault of the cast which try but it runs our of steam by the end.

But at least it's going at full speed overseas so now it's a matter of a couple of weeks where it will land in the top 20.

Well this is funny. Alien Covenant was one of his worst movies. Just a remake of the first Alien. And wasn't the sequel suppose to continue the story about "The Engineers"? They dropped that like a hot potatoe and got back to business with the Aliens. I love most of his movies but isn't that kind of hypocritical?

This is so unreal. Right at the end of the year. Guess the heartbreak was all too much. Besides Singing in the Rain, my generation new her as the Voice of the Spider in Charlottes Web. Not a big hit when it first came out but became cult status over the years (remake doesn't count). I remember going to see this as a kid. To young to appreciate until in later years. Even tho she doesn't have a line there hopefully in ep. 8 & 9 she will have a speaking role. It would be nice to have family there.

Rogue One rules with Sing trying to come close but no cigar. As far as the other films there was just too much competition resulting with them canceling each other out. It just screamed Netflix!
And again Rogue will rule the box office for New Years. The shame is like Paul Walker's passing after finishing Fast Furious 7 that boosted the box office the same will happen with Rogue One. Not to sound cynical but that is the way people are. This will also help boost SW Episode 8 sorry to say. Human Nature.

Like the 3 view fx featurette I included last year from The Force Awakens that was Not on the BR, why wasn't this included on any edition in the home release. And this is a reference to the Rogue One edition if we are going to get any deleted scenes from the 3rd act that was seen in the trailers but not in the final version of the movie. Or maybe a Directors cut like BvsS (minus Superman footage) or Suicide Squad version that still left most of Jokers scenes out of the home release. What a mess.

Personal fav Jeff Bridges for Hell or High Water, all 3 including Ben forster and Cris Pike deserve Nods for a great movie. 4 out of 5.
Last but not least is Andrew Garfield who told Sony go screw themselves for Spiderman. Now who's getting the last laugh. Great job all around including Mel for Hacksaw Ridge. 4 our of 5.

Talk about stupid money, this is one lucky guy to be at the right time and place. I met Gilroy at the Apple Store a few years ago. Simple hello but was a nice guy. If there's one actor who deserves a second chance in this franchise is Ewan. He  pulled off such an econic character and made it is own despite how aweful those scripts were in the Manace trilogy. Well looks like he is going to get his wish as he was pushing for this for the longest. Unlike the Han Solo, doing the recast aka Star Trek.  Lets face it as good as that cast is the shtick is getting tiring.

Will The Rock aka Johnson break the $80 mark? Well it's got no competition. Bad Santa 1 wasn't all that and nobody was asking for this. Both Rules and Apply is something saved for Netflix. But where will Fantastic Beasts land? Will it have it's repeats from the Potter fans or get crush by The Rock.
Once was enough for me:
Fantastic Beasts Review: 2 out of 5, With all those special effects and colorful creatures, I was so bored to death with this that I couldn't wait for the movie to end. It crawled like a snail. And when that twist at the end with a certain cameo didn't help matters. Wow, big deal. I saw this cause the creatures reminded me of Ray Harryhausen's work. He was a genius. This was a disapointment.

Great opening and again no big competition but the secret here will it have repeat business. That be a killer if the film opens to really bad reviews. From the fans that is, critics don't count here. If the fans give this a big WTF, there goes the box office.

Now we're talking. This should be a lot of fun. That crossover with Flash and Supergirl was a good one. And of course Arrow had it's crossovers but now we got Legends of Tomorrow thrown into the mix. And Legends needs the boost as it's not doing too good with the ratings like the other shows.

Director says "It won't be a CG F*kathon" Nope it sure won't. But it'll be a Fking trainwreck of a script tho. That trailer sucks to no end. If there's one reason to reboot a Wolverine trilogy is hoping they can write a good script and get it right the next time.
