Douglas Trumbull had a lot to do with the "Original Trilogy Star Wars" movies and made the classic Sci-fi "Silent Running" with Bruce Dern released in 1972.  This could the  tech angle where Peter Jackson failed on the Hobbit Trilogy. But never mind the tech, will the movies be any good?

Blu-ray review already. Yep its a disappointment. 1 hour of features and that's it.
Where is the Commentary, Deleted scenes, Gag Reel? And from all those features that where on
the internet, where are those. And last but not least we know there's easters eggs relating to the sequels.  Well you know what that means? Yep The Double Dip! They are getting us fans again.
Will I get this anyways? Yes. Will I get the Directors Edition? Yes. Am I a SAP? Yes!

Everyone's favorite James Bond villain Jaws and the only villain to be in more than one bond film. First he was in The Spy Who Loved Me then Moonraker.And he almost was in "For Your Eyes Only" until the producers thought it was time for Bond to go back to a more serious tone.

I remember first seeing him as the Kanamit Alien in the Twilight Zone episode "To Serve Man"
known for its famous line "It's a cookbook!" On the Blu-ray: Season 3, Episode 89, Disc 4.
So ever since I was a kid I always look forward to seeing him in so many shows then in various movies. He starred with Capt. Kirk Willaim Shatnner in the Barbary Coast TV Show, along side with Han Solo Harrison Ford "Force Ten From Navarone", The Villain Jaws in the James Bond Franchise and even in beginning clip of the TV Show "The Incredible Hulk" even through he was replace by Lou Ferrigno since the producers didn't think he had the muscles even if he had the height.
But he still got paid for 2 unproduce Hulk movies. By his quote from his Bio:
Making It Big In The Movies, the autobiography of Richard 'Jaws' Kiel with a forward by Roger Moore. 
 Trivia: I got his book autograph by him! But I never met him. Huh?
I brought it used on Amazon by someone who sold it cheap, it wasn't till Igot it that I realized
it was signed by him. It was signed "To The Vines" or soemthing like that. I wonder why would they sell it. But man I'm glad I held on to it all these years.
My favorite The original Longest Yard with Burt Reynolds "I think I broke his fuckin neck!"
and everyone's favotie Happy Gilmore.

What hit me here is the the new BR will be 100GB. That means all those box sets that we have now, are we going to double dip with the 4K. Meaning for example, Star Trek TNG Season 6, 6 disc set will now be just 3 discs but the price of course would be higher. So let's see how this goes:
VHS-DVD-BR-4kBR just like LPs (album)-Cassette-8track-CD-SACD-Virgin Vinyl, etc.
How many more frigggin time am I going to own Dark Side of the Moon? And don't get me started with Star Wars. 20th Century Fox who still owns the rights to THE Original SW is going to love this.

Talk about Kaching. They finally put all those extra features for ST Darkness that was spread all over the galaxy from "Target sores to God knows who else" with constant dipping to get all the goodies.
But I must admit they must of seen me coming because I am  the kind that loves all those bonus features and commentaries and STD has an Enhanced Commentary Track! Running at 167 Minutes! While I got both films on BR I didn't double dip to get those features and hated I had to download the commentary from itunes. But the commentary is worth it. JJ does a great job explaining the movie. Of course I have to see the Enhanced version.Being a Trekkie and collector looks like they got me. So let's see my resume: Multimedia producer, musician, composer, SAP!

Funny how she was crying about her privacy when was she ready to do nudity for art sakes in the movie Killer Joe with Matthew McConaughey. That role eventually went to Juno Temple when funding took too long and  JLaw was offered to do X-Men First Class.
A little trivia from William Friedkin Bio, Oscar winning Director of The Exorcist, French Connection, Killer Joe and and the highly underrated Sorceror with Roy Schieder, Sheriff Brody of Jaws. 
But like I said in the  previous logs Hunger Games 3 will be huge. There's no competition besides those friggin Hobbits. Don't be surprise if HG3 comes close to $400M.

What a shame this never came to be. But I swear Terry Gilliam is cursed. Quite a few of his pictures don't get made or have troubled productions. This article does not mention that Williams also worked with Gilliams on The Adventures of Baron Von Munchausen. He played "King of the Moon" but in the credits he's listed as Ray D. in the desert part of the world. This picture would be the last thing I would pay for after seeing all the news on the internet just to remind me how depressing the desert over there is. Got it producers?

Talk about Predictions:
As stated by ours shows and this blog, I will show you the art of eating Crow:

1. Gaurdians of the Galaxy: Like I said..We all needed our Star Wars fix and Marvels fans will unite for this to beome  huge at the Box Office. Still No. 1 and will clear at the $300M Mark.
Check.

2.  Godzilla hopefully will cross that $200M and that $500M intertionally, which of course it did,
with sequals announced.
Check.

3. As per my shows and the blog I stated earlier this year I predicted only Hunger Games Sequel will be the only film to gross over $300M.
WRONG!!!
Shall we say $400M, and dont tell you these pictures have nothing to do with it.

The Black and White 1954 release and the sequels getting a makeover with 4k. A few years ago when classic media and Criterion collection said this was the best they had to master and it would cost to much even if the technology existed back then. Well now it's a dream come true to finally clean up the masters. I'm sure $500M at the box office didnt hurt and then there's the BR/DVD release sales.
A dream come true of us Godzilla fans. Not bad for a guy in a suit. Who hell is laughing now?

We alI remember him in Jurassaic Park and his 2 Oscars for directing and producing Ghandi. But I recommend "A Bridge To Far" as my favortie film of him directing. An all star cast including
Anthony Hopkins, Sean Connery, Robert Redford, Micheal Caine and more. Based on an actual event in WW2 abot a mission that was considered a failure. SEE IT on Netflix or whereever as this a a classic film and a great history lesson. FIY. Dont bother with the Blu Ray as they really screw that up big time. Lousy transfer all around. The special Editon 2 disc version has a whole bunch of features including Oscar Screenwritier William Goldman (Pincess Bride) commentary.

I thougth I saw a commercial trailer for New Blood, what the hellis taht about. I loved this show but once Sookie went Fairy theshow went out the window. Like Dexter another lousy ender.
Second Doctor Who: Lets face it, we all do it. I prefer the last Doctor this Doctor stinks.

New Shows This Weekend

New show on MNN on Saturday at 5 Pm. We are going to review Expendables 3, Mercenaries (EX3 Ripoff), Ninja Turtles, and others along with our tribute to Robin Williams.
Also My Tribute and review of Robin Williams movies will premiere on TalkShoe Radio. This will be our first full show on that Radio Station.

"The Black List" NBCs big hit show will start it's second season I was lucky to be on the set for one of the shows being filmed for the new season.
"A Day in the Life of a BackGround Actor" This will be a special on TalkShoe Radio as I tell of my experiences of spending the day as a BG Actor on the set of The Blacklist" which filmed on location at Coney Island. For this reason after spending the whole day at the beach under the sun is why I'm so fried. Man that Sun is sneaky and is taking the whole day to recover for the shows this weekend.
This will premiere next week along with a big massive review show for the films in August.
THEN those Godzilla shows I promised now that we got sound issue out of the way.

My Favorite Robin Williams Movies

Here are my top 5 Favorite movies with Honorable Mentions to follow. More on the new Radio
Show this coming Friday.

1. Mrs. Doubt Fire
What a family movie should be with all the beats in place. Saw this again this week and still pulls aat the heartstrings while making laugh like crazy. The jokes never get tired. Won the Golden globe.
But he should been nominated for at least an Oscar for this.

2. The Bird Cage
A great remake which is better than the first as the third act takes it to the next level.
And seeing Gene Hackman as a one Ugly woman is the highlight to cap this perfect comedy.

3. Aladdin
All those voices, and those behind the scenes videos now being shown on how much improve he did for this movie.

4. Good Morning Vietnam
Total improve to make his transition from stage to screen. Smart on Director Barry Levinson to let him do what he did best with the cast actually cracking up and and their reactions caught on film

5. Dead Poets Society/ Good Will Hunting
Can we be serious here? These nominations were not a joke and the only comedian to be nominated for 4 Oscars and winning one as Best Supporting Actor for Good Will. Now that's a resume.
Lets not forget all the other nominations and wins: Best Actor Golden Globes.


Honorable Mentions:
World According to Garp: His first foray in Dramedy but not everyones favorite. Depressing tho.
Moscow on the Hudson: Love the foreign accent while doing his shtick.
Adventures of Baron Munchausen: Bit part but good to see him working with a Python.
Fisher King: Another Python work but him and Jeff Bridges made a great pair.
Insomnia/Awakenings: Going mano a mano with Al Pacino and Deniro. That's acting.
Bicentennial Man: Hisacting went thru the makeup so show a lot of heart. Why the hatred on this?

Night at the Museum: He was the highlight in both films and again funny with heart.

Hard to believe and completely by surprised. I grew up with him in school watching Mork and Minday TV show and then seeing him get all those awards and doing those HBO Live on Broadway  shows by performing solo. And don't forget those Comedy Relief with Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg something the article above does not mention. He had it and still couldn't beat depression.
Shame. Too many to mention but Mrs. Doubtfire (yes there was rumor of a sequel) is my favorite and the very underrated dramedy,The World According to Garp with John Lithgow who won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. They made a great team on that film. Go find it and see it.

Godzilla 2014 finally broke the $200M mnark and $500M internationally.
It seems that the Comic Con new help the US box office as it was hanging around the $195 for weeks and all of a sudden it pick up steam again. Repeaters or people who stayed away finally caved in?
What ever it took was worth it. But the strange thing is Japan with the numbers being really low
considering that's is Hometown. But then again overseas numbers tend to drag in certain countries.
But what the hell, we are getting are Kaiju trio to help Godzilla out with the franchise.

The article is a bit technical about the cameras they used but a good insightto Lucs style of directing alongside the camera work of Thierry Arbogast. This was a good film besides the ending going loony aka Time Machine Looping but still alot of fun and Short!
